What will our life be like in 100 years? No one can truly know the answer, but we are sure that it will be very different from the life today.
My brother David makes some predictions. Here are some of his ideas.
First, people will have less work to do.
People will spend most of their time playing sports and traveling. So people will become stronger and healthier, and they will live longer as well.
Second, computers will control (控制) the cars and people don’t need to drive. So there will be fewer and fewer traffic accidents (交通事故).
Planes will be very popular, and most people would like to take a plane for their trips. As for robots, they’ll be very popular with human beings. Every family will have a robot. Robots will do dangerous and heavy work for people.
Third, people will be able to live in the sea, on the moon or on other planets. The earth won’t be crowded or noisy any more. So there will be much space for people to plant trees. There will be less pollution.
Finally, water shortage (短缺) will become one of the most serious problems. If we don’t save water now, people will start wars for water in 100 years.

What will the future be like? Will robots think like humans? Will computers become smarter than us? Here are some things that scientists say that are happening or will happen in 10—30 years from now on, according to the BBC.
| Self-driving Cars | There are some machines on the car. They can make the car follow the rules of the road and keep a safe place from other cars. This would make the road safer. You can even take a short rest when the car drives itself. In the future, self-driving cars would be used by many people. |
| Digital (数字的) Money | Now we can use WeChat Pay or Alipay (支付宝) to shop. That means we are already using digital money. People only need to take a phone wherever they go. Using these ways is much easier than looking for money in our pockets. However, some people don’t like using it. They think it is not safe enough. |
| Virtual (虚拟的) friends | A life-size replica (复制) of your best friend. It will be possible to talk to a life-sized hologram (原样录像) of friends. A projector (投影仪) will create a picture of your friend sitting next to you. It will be just like they are there, but you can’t touch them. |
Who says we never know what will happen in the future? Although we may not know, we can be the people who make our own future!
