I'm Tom. One afternoon, while I was doing my homework in my room, I heard a loud noise in the kitchen. I rushed into the kitchen.

I saw my mother screaming in pain. Her clothes were badly burnt and there was still some fire on her. I quickly rushed into my room, took a thick blanket and wrapped it around my mother to put out the fire on her.

By this time, all the other family members had rushed into the kitchen. My brother called an ambulance(救护车). My sister brought my mother to the living room to lie down. My father and I put out the fire in it.

The kitchen was in a great mess. The walls were black and some windows were broken. The pots and pans were charred(烧黑).

Very soon, the ambulance arrived and took my mother to the hospital. Father went with her in the ambulance. The doctor quickly examined her. Mother's burns were serious and she had to stay in hospital for two weeks.

While Mother was in hospital, we cleaned the kitchen, painted the walls and bought new pots and pans. The windows were fixed and the kitchen looked nicer than before.

We bought flowers and fruits and visited Mother every day. Mother finally recovered and everyone was happy when she was able to come home.
