Little free libraries are small boxes with books, inside for people to borrow, they started in Hudson, Wisconsin, US in 2009 and soon became popular in the world, they are a special part of communities. Not long ago, in Redan, Australia, a girl and her mother built a “little free plant library”— a free plant stand (架) to borrow happiness to their community.

Rachel and her mother Vicky Robinson noticed that people always looked sad these years. “So what can we do to put on a(n) ① on people’s faces?”Rachel thought. As she often helps her father in the garden. Rachel is good at making plants grow. Looking at her flowers in the garden, she thought of the idea for a plant stand.

“Gardening is a natural way to help people relax.” Rachel side.

With the help of her mother, Rachel built a tall stand and painted and drew pictures on it. They put many kinds of plants on it. The stand invited people with the words. “Needs a plant? Take a plant. Have a plant? Leave a plant. ”People could come to take a plant home or leave a plant for people in need.

Now the stand is a warm space for people in the community to meet and talk. Even ② it takes Rachel and her mother a lot of time to grow the plants and put them on the stand, they are happy to see these lovely people and their smiles.

The Cat Loves Being Outside

Simon, a 6-year-old black cat, loves doing outdoor activities, such as mountain climbing, biking and even skiing. When he does these activities all over the world, his human friend Yosh, an adventurer (冒险家) is always by his side.

Yosh is Simon’s owner. He adopted (收养) the black cat in 2016. He brought Simon home and took care of him. Instead of making Simon a house cat, Yosh had big plans. He wanted the cat to enjoy the beauty of nature. So Yosh started to take Simon to go outside with him.

Surprisingly, Yosh found that Simon loved being outside. Then he decided to train Simon to be an adventure cat and experience the outdoor safely.

The two went to many places. For Yosh, going outside with Simon for activities was the best way to protect his pet.

“In a lot of ways, he does feel like my kid,” Yosh says. He hopes to encourage (鼓励) more people to take their cats outside. “I want people to know cats can be just as active as dogs if they get good training,” Yosh said.

Animals are people's friends, but many animals are in great danger, because the environment（环境）that they are living in has changed a lot. For example, their living areas have become smaller and smaller because of the development（发展）of cities and the large population. They don't have enough places to live in or enough food to eat. At the same time, men are trying to kill（杀戮）these animals to make more money or have their meat.

People should realise（意识到）how bad the situation is and must do something to protect the animals. We should stop the killing and build some nature parks to help animals live happily there. What's more, we should do something to make our world clean.
