Cooking is supposed to be the most basic living skill for humans. However, there are many kids who are used to being taken care of everywhere. Cooking is very 【小题1】 for them. They can’t even tell the difference between leeks (韭菜) and shallots (小葱) 【小题2】.

In order to show the 【小题3】 of hard-working spirit education among students, the Communist Party of China Central Committee recently released (发布) the notices. The notices call for students to respect labor (劳动) work. Students should learn basic life skills and 【小题4】 good working habits through such education.

Students will be 【小题5】 to understand and master the basics of home cooking. From 【小题6】 vegetables to finally being able to complete the whole process, they should finish it by themselves. These will be lifelong 【小题7】 for kids, helping them develop into well-rounded persons, not just students who are able to take exams.

【小题8】 children’s first teachers, parents should also encourage children to learn how to do chores at home. Students should master at least one 【小题9】 two life skills every year. These skills can include cooking, washing their 【小题10】 and tidying their rooms. It’s really important for students to take labor education both at school and at home.

In Western countries, most kids make pocket money by 【小题1】. They make money in many 【小题2】 ways. When kids are very young, their parents help them sell the fruit from their own trees to neighbors. Kids may also help parents do housework to make money at home. When they reach sixteen, they can make money by sending newspapers or by working in fast food restaurants, especially 【小题3】 the summer holidays. Making pocket money is 【小题4】 to children when they grow up. That is why parents encourage 【小题5】 kids to make pocket money.

One day in class, a teacher on the platform (讲台) held up an apple and said, “Please 【小题1】 the smell in the air!” One student raised his 【小题2】 and answered, “I have smelled it. It is the smell of an apple.” The teacher stepped (走) off the platform, passed by each of the students and said, “Please smell again to see if the smell of the apple is 【小题3】 in the air.”

Half of the students raised their hands to show that they could smell it. The teacher returned to the front of the classroom and asked 【小题4】 who else could smell the apple. Everyone raised their hands 【小题5】 one student. The teacher came to the student and asked, “you 【小题6】 can’t smell the apple?”

The student answered, “No, I can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a real apple.”

The teacher smiled at the student and said to the class, “He is 【小题7】! This is not a real apple.”

All of the 【小题8】 students were tricked (欺骗). They might have thought that perhaps the apple was not real, 【小题9】 they didn’t have the self-confidence (自信) to speak up. They just “followed the leader” and went along with the first student.
