What do you like to do when you have time? Li Hao likes to do exercise. He is a boy from Changsha, Hunan. 【小题1】 The boy does exercise for two hours every day.

Li Hao likes to do exercise because of his father, Li Qian. 【小题2】 When he finds his son doesn’t do much exercise after school, he begins to take him to go out and do exercise every day.

Li Hao goes to bed early, at about 9 o’clock in the evening, so he can get up very early. 【小题3】 They usually do exercise for about one hour in the morning. In the afternoon, Li Hao goes home early. 【小题4】

Now Li Hao loves sports very much and he is good at many of them, like swimming and running. 【小题5】

Jack loves to read a book each night. He reads all day. He reads at night. Jack’s books are here. His books are there. He can not even find his chair. He can not see which clothes to wear.

“That’s enough!” His mother says, “Clean up these books and get to bed!”

“Clean them up? But how? Right now? What should I do? How do I move them all from here? Should I stack them up behind the door?”

“Wait! What is his book I see here? Hmmmmm... How To Make A Library! I can organize (整理) by writer’s name — That sounds like a real cool game! Arrange (整理) them like the alphabet (字母表). That sounds easy. That’s no sweat or I could organize by title (标题) too. I know now that’s what I will do!”

“All A titles I’ll put here. This is great! Now I see! Next will come for B. This is really so much fun!”

Following these rules, Jack organizes them one by one. He sorts (分类) them all from A to Z. He organizes them happily. His mother is also happy. She never thinks he can pass that test (测试). But Jack comes through (获得成功) after all.

“Books are great,” says Jack with a smile, “They help me make a library!”

Some rich and beautiful ladies were sitting on the bank of a river, enjoying their picnic. When they were washing their hands and feet in the clean water, they saw their reflections (倒影).

Seeing their reflections in the water, they started to praise their own beauty. One of them said, “How beautiful my hands are!”

Another woman said her hands were even more beautiful. A third one said the same thing. Soon, an argument (争吵) broke out among them.

They saw an old woman passing by. She was walking with the help of a stick and her clothes were dirty. Seeing her, one lady suggested asking the old woman about whose hands were the most beautiful. They all agreed. When the old woman came near, they showed her their hands and asked, “Who has the most beautiful hands?”

The old woman said, “I am hungry and thirsty. Give me something to eat and then answer you.”

They refused and asked her to go away.

A poor woman saw all this. She went to the old woman and made her sit comfortably. She opened her lunch box and shared her food and water. Then she helped wash the old woman’s hands and feet, while giving great comfort to her.

After the old woman felt a little better, she went back to those rich ladies. Pointing to that poor woman, she said, “She has the most beautiful hands.”

All the ladies laughed. “What do you know about beauty?” Hearing this, the old woman replied, “Beautiful hands belong to those who do good and serve the people who need help.”
