This is a story about a monkey. 【小题1】 The old man liked the monkey very much. The monkey was very clever. When birds came to the garden, he drove(驱赶) them away. He also helped the old man in many other ways. 【小题2】 A fly(苍蝇) came and sat on the end of the old man’s nose. The monkey drove it away. Soon the fly came back again and sat on the old man’s nose again. 【小题3】 Again and again, the monkey became very angry. He jumped up, ran to pick up a big stone(石头). When he came back, the fly was on the old man’s nose again. 【小题4】 The fly fell off, but the old man’s nose was broken.

【小题5】 They do things too quickly but they don’t think much before they do. Maybe they sometimes bring us trouble, though(虽然) they mean to do something good.

Jerry is a special cook. When he changes his working place, many workers follow him. They want to work with Jerry. It is because of his way to life. He is always happy. If a worker is having a bad day, Jerry is there telling the worker how to look at the happy side of things.

One day, I said to him, “I don’t understand it! How can you always be a happy person?”

Jerry answered, “Every morning I wake up, I say to myself, ‘Jerry, you have two choices (选择) today. You can try to be in a good mood (心情) or in a bad mood.’ I want to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can run away from it or I can learn from it. I want to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me for help, I can feel bad or I can try to give help. I want to help more people.”

“Yeah, right. But it isn’t that easy, is it?” I said.

“Yes, it is,” Jerry said. “Life is all about choices. It’s up to you. Anyway, it’s your life, isn’t it?”

What do you think of your school life? Someone says it is very boring because you just have lessons all day. But I think it is great fun. Let me tell you how we can make our school life full of fun.

First, you should make a lot of friends. You can share joy and sadness, enjoy your school days and do everything together with them. Second, you’d better be in one of your school sports clubs. You can take part in different sports or matches. Sports will make your school life colourful. Third, you should do well in studies. Your marks will be important. With good marks, you will find it easier to be happy.

I am sure if you do the above three things, you’ll enjoy yourself very much at school.
