What do different countries do to keep students safe?
Japan
At public elementary schools in Japan, earthquake practice is held every month. It teaches students safe tips for earthquakes. The training helps students escape (逃) from earthquake-stricken areas safely.
Australia
Most students in Australia take first-aid (急救) courses at school. They learn basic first-aid knowledge in the class, such as how to call an ambulance (救护车) and what to do when someone is hurt. The government is trying to make all kids take such courses.
America
Most US schools’ buildings have fire escapes. They are usually made of steel and built outside of the building. People can get to the fire escape through a special door or through a window. It is not a good idea to take the lift or jump to the ground. You may hurt yourself.
