Rock climbing is a popular hobby that many people enjoy doing. You can do it indoors on special walls or outdoors on real mountains. There are many advantages(优点) of rock climbing—it is fun and it also helps people forget worries.

The most important equipment(设备) to have is good shoes. They need to be half a size smaller than your usual size. The next thing you need is a harness(保护带). This allows you to move freely, but will hold you up if you fall. It’s important to know how to use your equipment. If you are a beginner, it’s best to have lessons. A climber with experience can help you a lot in the beginning.

Rock climbing is very exciting for people of different ages. Climbers, however, must be careful not to pollute the environment. Sometimes rock climbers leave rubbish on the mountains where they climb. They should take it with them and throw it away. This will allow future climbers to enjoy a clean environment.

Nearly every parent says that we never grow up. In their eyes, we are always little ones and always do wrong things. For example, when I need to stay at home alone, they always worry about me and my life.

I think it means a place where we can hide ourselves from the outside cold world. From here, we can get warmth, we can get consolation(安慰), and we can get happiness. And one important thing is that we should be stronger in the outside world because we know that we have a family.

So I think parents and children should sit down to talk with each other. Parents let children feel that they have a true family and the children can understand parents more and more. Then, no children will be regarded as little ones.

Be a host

Don’t start any activity before all your guests arrive. If the people at the party don’t know each other, make sure you introduce (介绍) everyone.

If your guests bring gifts to you, thank each gift-giver when you open his (her) present. After the party, be sure to send a hand-written thank-you card to each guest. It’s a good idea to let them know you enjoy their gifts.

Be a guest

You should arrive on time. It’s not good to come late. Bring a gift to a birthday party. It can be some flowers, a cake or some chocolate. If it’s a holiday party, ask the host if there’s anything you can bring.

Remember to say “Please” and “Thank you” to other guests! They are magic (神奇的) words. When you leave, please say “Thank you” to the host.
