The Outback is a large desert (沙漠) area of Australia. Very few people live there and temperatures can be very high-about 50℃ in summer! Read the advice before you go there.

Do’s

Take enough water. There are few places for you to find water in the Outback. You can live for many days without food but not without water!

Use sunblock (防晒霜). The sun is one of the biggest dangers there. You should only hike in the morning and in the evening because it’s very hot between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

You should take a map. You should also tell friend or your family where you are going and when you are planning to get there.

Don’ts

Don’t depend on your phone. Some of the areas in the Outback are very far and there is no signal (信号).

Don’t worry too much about snakes. There are many different kinds of snakes but they don’t always hurt people.

Don’t leave your car if it stops working. Your car can help a plan find you. It’s a lot easier to find a car than a person from the air.

The capital of the UK is one of my favourite cities in the world. I started my London travel with a visit to the Tower of London. It is home to the English Crown Jewels. I arrived when the tower opened. It was about 9 a.m. There was a lot to see and I spent the whole morning there.

Coming out of the tower, I found myself right next to the Tower Bridge. I had learned about its history and how people built it before I came to London. I also learned how the lifting mechanism (机械装置) worked to let ships through before I visited it. I experienced the Glass Floor, a high-level walkway of the bridge. It was so exciting! When I was standing there, I could look straight down at the Thames, traffic and pedestrians (行人) over the bridge!

Afterwards, I went on the Tube — the London Subway — to the Houses of Parliament. This is where the politics in England takes place. Before going inside for a visit, I took a lot of photos from the outside of this beautiful building.

Tomorrow I am going to get a map of London and have fun walking around the city.

Going on a holiday without your family for the first time can be a free experience. Just remember that they won’t be at your side if it all goes wrong. Here’s how to be prepared:

Know the plan. So you’re holidaying with friends, and nobody around gives you any comfort. So you need to watch out for yourselves as a group, which means being responsible (负 责的)about having a good time, and looking out for each other. To get the most excitement and pleasure, be clear about your hopes for this holiday. Don’t wait until you arrive to discover you’re the only one with plans for lots of cold nights staying at the hotel.

Be responsible for yourself. It’s natural for you to want to relax on holiday, especially when your parents are not around you, but that doesn’t mean you should live like a pig. Try to keep a tidy eye on things, if not for you, for your holiday friends.

Help is just a call away. Right now, you might not think you’ll miss home. It may be a different story when you’re hundreds of miles away, so be sure to keep in touch. In this way, not only do you know that your family care about you, but also it can let their mind free from worry. If possible, make a call to them at an agreed time and it doesn’t cost much money. Just don’t be afraid to call your family at any time if you’re feeling bad.

Eat your greens. It’s worth keeping change to your diet. Just keep one eye on your health. Eating greens is a sure way to keep your health.
