The other day, a car accident happened and clearly I did nothing wrong. The other driver was so busy on his phone that he went right through a red light and hit my car.

A policeman arrived and started questioning me. I explained that my speed (速度) at the time of the accident was about 55 km/h.

“So you were going about 50 km/h? ” he asked.

“No, it was about 55 km/h,” I said.

“Right, so you were driving at a speed of about 50 km/h?” he asked again.

I was a little angry because I felt like he wasn’t listening to me carefully. So I shouted, “No!It was about 55 km/h” “Okay, if that’s the way you say it,” the policeman simply replied.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but it turned out (结果是) that I did the wrong thing. Since the city speed limit (限制), I only got paid by my insurance company (保险公司) for my broken car, but the other driver’s insurance company won’t pay me because of my speed.

The policeman was trying to help me out, but I kept telling the truth. I could have at least told him “thank you” instead of acting so impolitely (不礼貌地).

Samuel Ryde comes from London, England. He is a photographer (摄影师). In 2010, people around him began to write blog posts (博客帖子). When Samuel started to think about what kind of blog to make, his first thought was to post photos. Then he decided to take a photo at the same time every day. On the 16th of February in 2012, Samuel set an alarm for 12:34 on his phone. He chose that time because it was 1-2-3-4. At first, Samuel planned to do it for just a year. When he successfully did it, he set a goal (目标) of 10 years. Some of his photos appear meaningless. However, Samuel says they are the truest reflection (反映) of life. And he believes that’s the beauty of doing something for ten years.“If you ask someone to pose, that’s not the real them. They’re just showing when they want to be photographed. All my photos show the real moments of life,” says Samuel.

Ten years has passed and Samuel has reached his goal. Now, he says he will keep doing it for the rest of his life.
