A mouse looked through a crack (裂缝) in the wall to see a farmer and his wife open a box. However, he was shocked to discover that it was a mouse trap (老鼠夹) .

Going out to the farm yard, the mouse shouted, “There is a mouse trap in the house!”

The chicken lucked (咯咯叫), “I can tell this is a big problem for you, but it is nothing to me. ”

The pig grunted (咕哝), “I am sorry, but there is nothing I can do about it.”

The cow mooed (牛叫声), “ I’m sorry for you, but it’s no skin off my nose.”

That very night, they all heard the sound of a mouse trap snapping (咔嚓一声) shut. In the darkness, the farmer’s wife did not see that it was a snake whose tail (尾巴) was caught in the trap. She reached her hand out for the mouse trap and the snake bit her. She was taken to the hospital and returned home with a fever.

The farmer needed chicken soup to treat (治疗) her fever, so he went out to the farm yard for the ingredients (材料) . He killed the chicken to make the soup. But she was still sick after eating it, so her friends came to visit her. To feed them, the farmer killed the pig. Sadly, she died the next day. Many people came to her funeral (葬礼), so the farmer killed the cow to provide enough meat for all of them.

The next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it has nothing to do with you, think about it again. When one of us is in danger, we are all at risk because we are all living under the same sky.

Once there was a forest where all the animals lived happily together. One day a family went to spend the day in the forest, and the son left his socks there. After the family left, a bear came by, found the socks, and decided to try them on. They fitted (适合) him, and he liked them so much that he wouldn’t like to take them off.

All the animals talked about the bear’s new look. Soon, in the forest, there began appearing squirrels (松鼠) in shirts, rabbits in shoes, and even rats wearing hats! The forest doctor shook his head, telling animals, “This can’t be good. Animals don’t need clothes!” But no one listen to him. They said he was just out of fashion (时尚) .

However, it wasn’t long before the first results of fashion fever came. Several times the squirrel caught his shirt on trees, stopping him in mid jump and sending him falling to the ground from a tree. The rat couldn’t go into his hole without taking off his hat first. Even the bear, because of his socks, slipped (滑倒) from the river rock and almost killed himself.

When the animals came to see the doctor, he gave them all the same advice, “Take off those clothes before one day they are going to kill you.” Those who listened to the doctor’s advice stopped having accidents. And the animals realized that they didn’t need clothes at all. Starting to wear them was very dangerous for them, and they did it only to make others admire (羡慕) them and to get attention.

Do you like to praise(赞美) others? Do you like listening to good words? Is praising others a good thing or a bad thing?

A few weeks ago, while I was driving to a friend’s house, I saw a mom and her child walking their dog along the road. The mom was wearing a really cool jeans.

As I was driving past, I had my window down and shouted, “I love your jeans!” She was surprised for a while and then smiled as I drove off.

After visiting my friend, I drove back and went to fill up my car. At the gas station, I saw the same woman again. As she was passing the corner, I said, “Excuse me, were you just walking your dog not long ago?”

“Was that you?! I was having such a bad morning and you really turned it around for me. Thank you,” she said with a big smile.

It made my heart sing and I almost cried. We gave each other a high five and went on our way.

When you see something cool, just say it, as the person may need to hear it. When you feel excited to do something, act on it. You will make a difference.
