Many Chinese students may want to study abroad after high school. But at the same time, more and more foreign students are coming to study in China.
According to a report from www. the Students.com, 397,633 international students came to China in 2015. China is now the third most popular country for international students, behind the USA and the UK.
In the summer of 2016, 55 students and teachers from Germany came to China and joined a summer camp. They were interested in traditional Chinese culture. They visited several schools in Beijing. They learned to make dumplings, play Chinese kung fu and do paper cutting. If they like Chinese handwriting, they can learn calligraphy (书法). By communicating with Chinese people, they could have a close relationship with their new friends, they could know about China.
In 2018, especially young people in Germany, have become more interested in learning Chinese. There are more cultural exchanges (交流) between Germany and China. German students have had chances to learn more about Chinese culture, history and its life today. Almost 400 German schools have Chinese classes. Over 8,000 German students study in China.

Warmhearted
My English teacher, Ms Wang, always wears a smile. Her way of teaching is fun and interesting, which allows us to focus on learning English. What impressed me most is how she taught us clauses(从句). She made lots of small pieces of paper with different parts of sentences and asked us to match them so that we could understand better. I always feel encouraged by her warmness. (Dong Xinru, 13)
Interesting
My computer science teacher, Mr Qiu, loves to play tricks. One day, the class was over and it was time to turn off the computers. Mr Qiu, seeing many students still unwilling to leave, asked me to do the job.
When I turned the switch off, all the computers flashed off with many eyes shooting toward me. As if this wasn’t enough, Mr Qiu added with an innocent(无辜的) look, “See, even Tianxia can’t watch you playing anymore!” My classmates were all amused by his little trick. (Wang Tianxia, 14)
Considerate
My Maths teacher, Elaine, is like a big sister to us, who always cares for her students. Once I suffered from stomachache, but I couldn’t find my water bottle. She showed up like an angel and brought it to me with hot water in it. I was deeply moved and my pain was gone. From Elaine, I also learned I should care for others as much as possible. (Wang Yijia, 14)
Supportive(支持的)
I would describe my Chinese teacher, Mr Li, as supportive. In last year’s sports meeting, I was competing with another girl for the high jump runner-up(亚军). The boys in my class were laughing at me because I would fail if I lost another jump. I was standing there, helplessly. At that moment, Mr Li stopped the boys and encouraged me with a smile. After I successfully completed the jump, he shouted, “Great!” and clapped for me. Although I still ended up as the second runner-up(季军), Mr Li’s supportive actions lightened up my day. (Yao Zixin 15)
Happy Teachers’ Day, welcome more students to write some articles to our school newspaper, let us respect our teachers. They not only give our knowledge, but also become our friends.

I am writing to ask for information about the courses in your school. I am especially interested in the four-week intensive course (强化课程).
I have been studying English for three years at a language school in Madrid, Spain. I’m good at listening, reading and writing. However, my speaking skills need to be improved.
I have looked at the course introduction on your website but there is no information about the dates and price for the course. Are you offering it next month? I would also like to know where your students are from. Are they from different cultures?
Finally, I hope to know what type of accommodations (住处) is provided. My sister plans to visit me while I am there, for one week. We would prefer to stay together. Would that be possible? By the way, I don’t plan to spend much money on accommodations.
I would be thankful if you could send me the information to mariagomez@ gmail.com or call me at 0956-8893.
Thank you for your time.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
María Gómez
