As a young man, Alan was a skilled artist with a wife and two fine sons. One night, his elder son developed a bad stomachache. Thinking it was only some common intestinal(肠的) disorder, neither Alan nor his wife took the condition very seriously. But the boy died suddenly that night.

Since he thought the death was caused by his carelessness, he always felt guilty. To make matters worse, his wife left him a short time later, leaving him alone with his six-year-old younger son. The hurt and pain of the two situations were more than Alan could stand, and he turned to alcohol for help. As time went by, I began to revalue my earlier rough judgment I knew Alan’s now adult son Erie. He is one of the kindest, most caring, most loving men I have ever known. I saw the love between Ernie and his children, thinking that kindness and caring had to come from somewhere.

I hadn’t heard Ernie talked much about his father. One day, I worked up my courage to ask him what on earth his father had done so that he became such a special person. Ernie said quietly. “As a child until I left home at 18, my father came into my room every night, gave me a kiss and said. ‘I love you, son.’ ”

Tears came to my eyes as I realized what I had been a fool to judge Alan as a failure. He had not left any material wealth behind, but he was a “real” father in his son’s heart.

During the past summer vacation, a 15-year-old boy made a model plane on his own in less than a month. Then he flew it successfully, which surprised all the people around him.

The boy named Li Banghua is from Hefei, Anhui Province. He made the plane completely by himself. The plane is 0.6 meters wide, has a wingspan (翼展) of 4.4 meters and weighs about 40 kilograms. According to a local report, Li just finished his high-school entrance exam a year ago and got good grades. After the exam, he threw himself into the work of making the model plane right away.

Li has has been interested in model plans since he was a child. Besides, he has been studying and building model planes for years. This time the model plane is the largest he has ever build and he considers it the most successful one.

Throughout the process of building the plane, he came across many failures. “But the biggest difficulty I had was that the adults couldn’t understand me well,” Li said. “When I said I was going to build a model plane, a lot of adults thought it was impossible. But I decided to keep on working hard. That is because once I start something, giving up is not a choice for me.”

What’s more, on May 1st, 2022, he took the “fire fighting drone (消防无人机)” to a test flight in the field of his hometown in Feixi County successfully.

When talking about his future, he said he dreamed of becoming a plane engineer.

When the doctor knew who the woman was, he was excited and tried his best to save her life. He succeeded. The woman needed to pay for the medical bill. The doctor learned that she couldn’t afford it. So he wrote something down on the medical bill. The woman read the bill, “You have paid it with a glass of milk.” It’s good to help people who are in trouble even with a small thing.
