The hosts pretend to eat 50 hamburgers in front of the camera. While behind the truth, they throw up the food that they have eaten. The food waste caused by eating shows is shocking and worrying.

“Eating show” hosts not only waste food, but also make the idea of wasting things acceptable. Young people may be easily influenced by them. They may throw away some of the food they order at school. They should feel sorry about such behavior, but their favorite “eating show” hosts now make them believe that’s all right. Millions of people across China and the world don’t have enough food to eat. The food you waste could have meant a lot to them.

Different people can do different things to help reduce food waste. Schools and restaurants can start serving smaller size. Besides, students must learn more about the hard-working people who spend their time and energy growing food. Next time, think before you order: Do you really need so much on your plate?

Every weekend in Britain, DIY shops and garden centres are always full of people. A large number of people spend their weekends doing improvements（改进）to their homes instead of relaxing.

DIY projects are very popular and there are lots of TV programmes which show people how they can improve their homes.

Some people prefer easy decorating – putting up wall- paper and painting walls, but there are many other DIY projects that people decide to take on, from changing the new floor to setting a new shower.

Unluckily, some people bite off more than they can chew（不自量力）, and try to take on jobs which end in DIY disasters（灾难）. For example, the shops often tell their customers that anything electrical（电的）should be done by an electrician. However, many people don’t care about this warning and put themselves in danger.
