There was a car accident at 3: 30 yesterday afternoon. Some policemen arrived there. They found some witnesses (目击者) in the street when the accident happened. The policemen asked them some questions. Here are their answers.

“Today will be very cold,” says the weatherman on TV. “You need to wear very warm clothes.”

James wears very thick clothes. He wears a sweater, a jacket, a scarf and gloves (围巾和手套). Then, he goes outside. It is snowing.

“Wow, the weatherman is right! It is very cold outside,” says James. He gets into his car. He will go to work.

There are a lot of cars in the street. They are going slowly (缓慢地).

“Why are the cars going so slowly today?” he thinks. In the end, he knows why. The cars are going slowly because there is a car accident (事故)!

James drives slowly to the scene (现场) of the accident. He looks out of his car.

The driver of the accident car is Mr. Brown, his friend.

“Are all the people OK here?” he asks Mr. Brown.

“Yes. This is a small car accident, and all the people are OK,” says Mr. Brown.

“What did you hit (撞)?” asks James.

“A snowman!” says Mr. Brown.

An explosion from a factory in Kunshan killed at least 69 people and more than 120 people got hurt. China suffered its worst industrial accident in a year on Saturday.

The accident happened in Kunshan city, Jiangsu Province in China. And the blast was from Zhongrong Metal Products Company, who makes car wheels for the U.S. The Kunshan government told us 264 workers were there when the explosion happened and 44 died immediately. “We heard a really loud blast at about 7 a.m. this morning so we rushed out of our rooms,” said Zhou Xu, a 26-year-old worker at that company. Another worker said, “First the ambulance came and then many wives rushed to the factory to see if their husbands were okay.”

Now, Shanghai government is sending doctors to Kunshan to save the injured. And the doctor said the number of the dead may increase.

Chinese government is looking into the cause of the disaster. And President Xi attaches great importance to it. He said, “Those found responsible must be punished”.
