Tea is one of the world’s most popular drinks. In China, a host(主人)serves tea when a guest(客人)visits. Chinese people have kept this tradition of serving and drinking tea for over five thousand years.
The story begins with the Chinese Emperor Shen Nong. He lived over five thousand years ago. He was very interested in finding new plants. One day he went out to find new plants. During a break, a man began to boil water to drink. Suddenly, the wind blew and some dry leaves(树叶) fell into the boiling water. The water became brown. The emperor drank the water and found it very refreshing. He discovered(发现)that the dry leaves fell from a wild tea bush. Since then, Chinese people have enjoyed tea very much.
There are various manners(礼仪)of drinking tea. In Beijing, a guest should receive the tea with both hands and say “Thank you.” In some cities, a guest leaves a little tea in the cup to ask for more. So, it would be good to learn about tea manners.
To Chinese, tea is not only a drink, but also a form of art and culture. Chinese people are proud of their tradition of drinking tea.

Humans have yet to explore the deep wonders of the sea, but a recent find suggests aliens (外星人) may have already beaten us to it.
Deep below the Pacific Ocean lies what one Martian (火星的) researcher has taken as “a perfect pyramid (金字塔)”. Using Google Earth, this big structure appears to be 8.5 miles across and some say it could be a UFO parked underwater or a large alien base (基地).
Marcelo Igazusta, a researcher in Argentina, was the first to lay eyes on the mysterious underwater structure, which was discovered last month. Using the coordinates 12°8' 1.49'' N 119°35' 26.39'' W, Igazusta claims to (宣称) have seen a beam of light shining from the darkness of the Pacific Ocean just west of Mexico—leading him to this discovery.
Well-known alien hunter, Scott C Waring, picked up the discovery today and shared it with his followers. “It’s a perfect pyramid that measures 8.5 miles across one side of its base,” Waring writes in his blog UFO Sightings Daily. “That’s an underestimate. It could be up to 11 miles across.” Waring explains that this “perfect pyramid” is close to the ancient Mayan and Aztec pyramids in Mexico.
Although the ancient pyramids were built by humans, Waring says only aliens could make such a big structure, referring to the one underwater. “Even if this is not a UFO that landed in the ocean that was being used as an alien base, it is still an important discovery,” he writes. “An 8.5 mile pyramid...biggest the world has ever known.”

Everyone is on a diet(节食). Does that sound funny? Well, it’s true. A diet is the food you eat every day. But the word “diet” can also mean controlling calories(卡路里) or the kinds of food you eat to lose weight(体重). Some kids worry about their weight and say they’re going on a diet. You may also want to know if you should be on a diet, too. In fact, most kids do not need to and should not diet in this way. Why? Let’s find out.
A calorie is a measure of energy(能量). There are calories in all food and most drinks. When someone diets, he or she is trying to get fewer calories than the body uses. By doing this, the person may get thinner than before. But kids do not need to diet in this way.
In fact, kids are growing. They need healthy food to keep their bodies growing well. Some kids are heavy, but they can improve their health by doing more exercise. Being much too heavy can bring health problems, but kids may become less healthy by eating little or deciding to eat just one kind of food, such as cabbage soup.
Now that you know more about diet, you can tell people you’re on a very special diet—a balanced(平衡的), healthy one just right for a kid!

Beauty sleep is a real thing, researches have shown that people who have enough sleep look more attractive(有魅力的) to others.
A few bad nights is enough to make a person look “especially” more ugly, their sleep experiments show.
The researchers asked 25 university students to join in their seep experiment. They were asked to get a good night’s sleep for two nights.
A week later, they were asked to sleep for only four hours every night for two nights in a row. The researchers took make-up free(素颜)photos of the volunteers after both the good and the bad sleep.
Next, they asked 122 strangers to have a look at the photos and judge(评价)them on attractiveness, health, and sleepiness, as well as asking them: “How much would you like to make friends with this person in the picture?”
The strangers were good at judging if the person they were looking at was tired, and, if they were sleepy, their attractiveness score was low.
The strangers also said they wouldn’t want to socialize with the tired students. The researchers say this is natural for people. An unhealthy-looking face makes people run away. In other words, people don’t want to hang around with people who might be ill.
Dr. Brewer, an expert at the University of Liverpool said “Judgement of attractiveness is often unconscious(无意识的), but we all do it, and we are able to judge on even something small like whether someone looks tired or unhealthy. This study is a good reminder of how important sleep is to us.”
