Do teenagers in small villages do chores at home? How about the teenagers in big cities? Here is a survey. We asked 4,000 teenagers in China several questions. Half of them come from big cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The others are from small villages. We made a diagram of the result of our survey. Let’s have a look at it. We found out that teenagers from small villages do more chores than those from big cities. Maybe it is because they live a harder life. Our advice to parents in big cities is that parents should give their children some chores to do. Doing chores teaches teenagers to take care of themselves.

Beep... beep... There goes the bell! Robbie opens his eyes. He sits in the room for a whole day and now it is time for him to do something.
Robbie looks out of the window. It is still snowing heavily and there is ice on the window.
It is another cold day. Robbie is told to turn the heat on before the family get home. And he does it.
Then Robbie is told to do some cleaning work at once. It is an easy job for him but a hard one for his master Helen. He keeps working until every room is clean and tidy.
Now he has to cook supper for the family.
The first thing Robbie does is to get a big pot (锅) in the kitchen. Then he puts some water in the pot and puts it on the stove. He uses one of his hands to cut up a chicken and adds the pieces to the water to make a good soup. Then he gets some tomatoes, cabbages (卷心菜) and carrots to make a vegetable salad.
At ten to eight he puts the table. Then he puts some bread, the chicken soup and the salad on it. What a sweet smell! When he turns on the lights, the whole family come home.

On every family member's birthday, we give him or her a surprise. Last Sunday, it was my mother's birthday. And I knew that she wanted to see a film. So I bought a ticket without telling her first. This made her really happy.

Every weekend, my parents and I go to my grandparents' home. My grandparents cook many delicious foods. I meet all my cousins. We talk about interesting things at school. Sometimes my parents also join us to play games.
