On Sept. 19,2014 Alibaba went public on the New York Stock Exchange（纽约证券交易所）, raising $25 billion through an IPO(公司股票的首次公开发行), the biggest in the US history. It   shows that Ma Yun has done his business successfully. The short Chinese man seems to be the tallest in the world right now. Ma, who was an English teacher, has become one of the richest men on the Chinese mainland.

Born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Ma grew up as a happy kid. At the age of 12, he wanted to learn English. Every morning, he woke up at 5 a.m. , cycling 40 minutes to a hotel near the West Lake where he could chat with foreign tourists.

On a trip to the US in 1995,Ma was shown the Internet for the first time. Seeing the chance, Ma returned to China and set up a website called China Pages without even knowing much about computers.

Four years later,18 people including Ma, his wife and his friends founded Alibaba in Hangzhou. People called him "Crazy Jack Ma". But 15 years later, Alibaba has developed into the world's largest e-commerce（电子商务）company.

No one thinks he's mad now. Ma' s favorite line has been printed on Alibaba's souvenir T-shirts. It reads, "Everybody should have a dream. What if that dream comes true?"

Yang Hongwei（杨红卫）is a popular kite maker in Weifang（潍坊）. When she was a baby, she always stayed in her grandfather’s workshop（作坊）, seeing her grandfather’s make kites. Yang learned to make kites from her grandfather when she was 16. She started her shop in 1992. “Many places around the world have a game of flying kites,” Yang said. “But I think the Chinese idea behind our kites is special.” Once Yang made a kite with a phoenix（凤凰）. On each side of the phoenix were 50 women from Chinese history. Each woman isn’t the same in look and clothes. In her free time, she travels to places such as the UK, Russia, the US, Canada, India and South Africa. She tells the stories of Chinese kites and the ways they are made. She hopes people can have interest in kites.

The Chinese are working hard to achieve their China Dream. And now the model worker spirit and craftsman (工匠) spirit are very popular. Here is a story of a great craftsman.

Born in 1949, Pan Qihui was once a PE teacher. He was interested in writing with brushes and painting as a child. His hobbies had nothing to do with his job, but he never gave them up. He also had interest in collecting stamps and ancient coins. However, since he saw the micro-carving (微雕) artworks at an exhibition in the 1980s, he decided to study micro-carving.

In 1986, Pan wrote 100 letters to his 100 pen friends who also enjoyed collecting stamps and ancient coins to tell them he had decided to spend ten years studying micro-carving and promised to send each of them a micro-carving work. Then, he practiced every night after work. Through hard work, he only spent five years achieving his dream.

Pan practices much and trains hard. He has set a goal for himself that he will create one amazing work every year. To make sure his hands remain stable (沉稳的), Pan has given up smoking and been living a healthy life. Pan says he loves micro-carving and will never give it up.
