Here are some students’ schedules.

	Jim gets up at 6:30. After that, he brushes his teeth and takes a shower. And then he has breakfast. At 7:30 am, he takes the school bus to school. It takes him about 10 minutes. He gets home at 4:20 p.m. and does his homework at about 4:30 p.m.
	Ruby gets up at 7:00 a.m. Then she brushes her teeth and takes a shower. After a quick breakfast, she goes to school by subway at 7:30. It takes her about twenty minutes. She gets home at about 4:45 p.m.
	Li Hua gets up at 6:45 a.m. After breakfast, he walks to school from 7:20 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. After school he often plays soccer with his friends. He usually does his homework at 7:30 p.m. He never watches TV. He goes to bed at 9:30 p.m.
	Ma Lin gets up at 6:15 a.m. Then she takes a shower. At 7:00 a.m., she has breakfast. After that, she takes a boat to school. At 4:30 p.m., she gets home from school. Then she does her homework, has dinner and watches TV. She goes to bed at 9:00 p.m.

Many children are often at home alone(独自) for some time after school. When they get home, they don’t know what to do. This is why parents need to make rules for their children.

The rules are about the following questions:

Should a kid call Dad or Mom when he or she gets home? Can a kid watch TV after school, and so, how long can he or she watch? Does a kid need to do homework first? Can a kid ask his or her friends to play at home after school? Can a kid go out after he or she finishes the homework? So why not make a schedule(日程安排) like the following one?

4:30 p.m.—4:40 p.m.—Call Mom or Dad.

4:40 p.m.—5:00 p.m.—Have some bread and milk.

5:00 p.m.—6:00 p.m.—Do homework.

6:00 p.m.—6:10 p.m.—Do some cleaning in the room.

6:10 p.m.—6:45 p.m.—FREE TIME!

6:45 p.m.—Mom or Dad is home.

Parents and children can benefit from this schedule. It can tell children what they should do their free time. And parents can make rules with the help of it.
