Success is often considered to be the opposite of failure. To teenagers, it is the achievement of a goal or completion of something they really need, such as good grades and the ability to get along well with their classmates. Some schools used to agree with most parents who measured the success of their children according to grades, but now they pay special attention to moral (道德的) education and character-building to make sure teenagers achieve success in building human relationships.

Schools give chances to students to discover their hidden abilities so that they can enjoy some form of success. For example, those good at speaking skills are advised to take part in speech competitions while those interested in arts are expected to perform in front of their classmates. Teenagers also get the pleasure of success when they join their favorite clubs.

Teenagers are often told that success is not easy to achieve and that success lies in hard work. Great efforts have to be put into project work. Doing things much later than planned should be avoided as this will lead to a mountain of work which finally makes them nervous. Another good quality (品质) is a sense of responsibility which makes them remember that a task has to be completed.

Sticking to moral values is the key to success, too. Honest teenagers will win the trust of friends leading to good relationships. Self-motivation (自我激励) is another quality to be developed, for self-motivated teenagers will have the strong will and drive to perform a task and finally get to enjoy a sense of achievement.

In the United States and Canada, there are over 6,000 museums, almost twice as many as there were 25 years ago. However, they have changed a lot. They are no longer places where one “should” go-they are places to enjoy.

At a science museum in Canada, you can feel your hair stand on end as harmless electricity passes through your body. At the Children’s Museum in New York, you can play an African drum. There are no “Do Not Touch” signs in some other museums in the USA.

More and more museum directors (馆长) have realized that people learn best when they can become part of what they are seeing. In many science museums, the visitors are encouraged to touch, listen, and experiment so as to find scientific rules for themselves.

The old museums have been changing and the government is encouraging the building of new, modern museums. One cause of all these changes is the growing number of young people in the population. They see things in a new and different way. They want art that they can take part in. The same is true of science and history.

When you have a problem with your homework, what do you do? Many students used to upload (上传) a picture of the homework to find answers in the apps, which could help them to solve some difficult problems.

Some parents also used the apps to help children with their homework. “It is already challenging for me to solve fifth-grade math questions,” a parent surnamed Lu told online newspaper Sixth Tone. “The Apps can help me to check his homework.” However, not anymore.

On Dec 13, the Ministry of Education said that homework help apps, which allow students to get answers by taking photos and uploading them online, will be removed temporarily (暂时). These apps may make students lazy, affect (影响) their independent thinking and go against the law of education and teaching, the ministry said.

Some online tutoring (辅导) apps may be affected, and they have many users. For example, the Zuoyebang app had more than 100 million users in 2020, according to a report by Xueyan Thinktank. Meanwhile, at the end of 2019, about 8.6 billion searches had been made in the Xiaoyuan Souti app. It solved at least 23.47 million questions each day, reported Global Times.

How badly these apps have influenced younger users! These homework help apps have spoiled (毁掉) many students and they depend on these apps too much. They can’t control themselves to copy the answers in the Apps. As a result, they seem to finish their homework efficiently (有效率地) but actually score poorly in exams.
