Will You Help Others?

［1］Recently, there is an issue（议题）which has caught large numbers of net friends attention again. Three pupils helped an old man（4）①           fell to the ground and were framed（诬 陷）by the fallen man that they had knocked him over. The man asked compensation（赔偿）from the three pupils and even went to their homes to live. Most netters sympathize（同情）the three children and accuse（谴责）the man of making use of children’s kindness to cheat money. They also doubt whether nobody is going to help others in the future.

［2］The three kids and their parents may feel sad about it. But I think we can’t refuse to help others. Why? First of all, not all strangers are cheaters. Actually, there are few cheaters in our society. Just imagine, what if one day you are in trouble and no one wants to help you? Should we be onlookers（旁观者）when other people fall down or get injured in front of us? We should learn（4）②            the three kids. It isn’t their fault for helping the man. Their problem is that they are unlucky to meet a cheat.

［3］Secondly, helping others is the traditional virtue（美 德）of China. We shouldn’t hesitate（犹豫）to help others because of a few negative behaviors. We are educated to offer help to others from childhood. If everyone is afraid of getting in trouble and turns a blind eye to the people in need, the society（4）③            become cold and there will be only suspicion（猜疑）.

［4］（5）In fact, helping others is helping ourselves. There is an old saying in China, “One good turn deserves another.” It means rewards will first come to the nice guys who are good persons and keep helping others.

Different weather makes people feel different. It influences health, intelligence and feelings. In August, it is very hot and wet in the southern part of the United States. People there have heart trouble and other kinds of health problems during this month.

In the Northwest and the Middle West, it is very hot at some times and very cold at other times. People in these states have some heart trouble after the weather changes in February or March. The weather can also influence intelligence. For example, in a 1983 report by scientists, IQ of a group of students was very high when a very strong wind came, but after the strong wind, their IQ was 10% lower. The wind can help people have more intelligence. Very hot weather, on the other hand, can make it lower. Students in many schools of the United States often get worse on exams in the hot months of the year (July and August).

Weather also has a strong influence on people's feelings. Winter may be a bad time for thin people. They usually feel cold during these months. They might feel unhappy during cold weather. But fat people may have a hard time in hot summer.

Low air pressure (气压) may make people forgetful. People leave more bags on buses and in shops on low pressure days. People feel best at the temperature of about 18 °C.

Do you feel sad, tired, forgetful or unhappy today? It may be the influence of the weather.

Although I have grown up, I act like a child sometimes. I don’t like growing up to be an adult. Things become more difficult in the world of adults.

One day, I went to buy a Christmas card. After I went into the store, the storekeeper showed me where to find the cards. I met a young mother and her baby there.

There were a lot of toys on the shelf. The young mother stood close by the shelf so that the little girl was able to pick a toy. However, it seemed too difficult for the little girl to pick a toy. Then the young mother stopped. She picked a toy for her child and made her happy.

The big smile on the face of the little girl made me think of my childhood. When I was a small child, my parents came along whenever I needed them. They helped me to solve many problems. I seemed to be immersed in happy memories. Suddenly, the young mother’s words brought me back to the reality.

“Dear, one day, when you become an adult, I hope you can take good care of yourself,” she said to the little girl.

The words woke me up. I was no longer a small child. I should learn to be independent and face problems bravely by myself. And my parents will certainly be proud of me.
