Technology （技术）is very important in our life today. Four students from Dublin tell us how they use technology in the city.

	1.Online Shopping I love online shopping. I send my shopping list to the supermarket and they send the things to my house. It’s so easy arid it saves me lots of time.
	2.Tablets I use a tablet to get online I look up the opening times of shops and museums. I also find out what’s playing at the cinema and what time films start. It’s easier, cheaper and quicker than a phone call.
	3.Apps & Smartphones I’m learning French. But I haven’t got much time to practice it. Now I’m learning words and expressions with an app on my smartphone. It’s great because I can use it anywhere in the city.
	4.WIFI Zones & Laptops I’m lucky. I’ve got a small laptop. I use it to send emails and to chat with my friends. I can now do those things in the city center because there are lots of places with free WIFI zones cafes, the library, parks, eta,like using my laptop in the park. I can do my homework and get fresh air at the same time!

Cool driverless bus

A bus door opens and you get on. Wait! Where is the driver? Here is a new kind of driverless bus called Apolong. It has 14 seats and doesn’t need a driver. The bus follows traffic rules. It stops as soon as it sees a stop light.

World’s first AI anchor (主播)

Hey, look! The famous Chinese anchor Qiu Hao is reporting the news for us. But, is “he” really Qiu Hao? The answer is “no”. This is the world’s first AI anchor. It looks and speaks just like a real person. It can work 24 hours and doesn’t make any mistakes. You might see it on TV soon.

Popular AI artist

This beautiful painting was at an auction (拍卖) in 2020. The painting is worth about 3,000,000 yuan! But it is not a work by a famous painter, such as Vincent van Gogh. It was painted by an AI artist. Three Frenchmen created the AI artist. It studied over 15,000 paintings. In this way, it learned to paint.

The First Shenzhen (International) Intelligent Sanitation Cleaning Robot Competition was held at Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (国际会展中心) in Baoan District in March 2024.

A total of 37 robots got awards at the competition. Four of them won first prizes, seven second prizes, ten third prizes, and the others received merit prizes.

At first, companies developed cleaning robots based on their understandings of market demands (需求). This competition, also the world’s first sanitation robot competition, however, was set to change this situation. It aimed to help he high-quality development of sanitation cleaning robots.

The driverless sweeper S330, developed by a company from Shenzhen, won one of the first prizes. It was the only one to successfully finish cleaning on a 20-degree slope at the competition. The sweeper S330 is a highly intelligent outdoor driverless sweeper and it has a large rubbish bin. It can dump rubbish by itself when it is full. It can also clean while spraying (喷) water to control dust. This sweeper has been used in Huafu Subdistrict and Shenzhen Book City CBD Store in Futian District.

At present, Shenzhen is leading in producing and researching and developing the AI sanitation equipment. It takes up more than 30% of these companies in this area in China. Shenzhen is playing a very important role in China, and even around the world.
