Many people are unlucky since they were born, they lead 【小题1】 hard life. However, in our daily life, we may meet many kind people. Some of them help children who can’t afford school fees (学费). I also want to be such a kind person and try my best to help those in need.

Last Monday, my husband and I 【小题2】 (spend) some time in the park next to our house. We often went to this park and we knew there were some homeless people. They sometimes stayed on the benches (长椅). We brought along some food, fruit and a few 【小题3】 (bottle) of water to share with them.

I felt greatly happy when I watched them enjoying our food. They said it was a big dinner for them and it was a 【小题4】 (luck) day for them.

Among them, there was a homeless boy 【小题5】 (call) Bruce. He was about eight years old and he lost 【小题6】 (he) parents in a car accident, so he couldn’t go to school.

【小题7】 I asked him if he liked school, he said yes. So we decided 【小题8】 (take) him home and let him go to school. The boy was happy to live 【小题9】 us. From that day on, little Bruce became our son and went to school 【小题10】 (happy).

Working in Africa, we went to an orphanage（孤儿院）to visit the children one day. Working as volunteers, we took lots of clothes, books and some food. When they saw us, they all c【小题1】. They became even happier after getting their gifts. Even some sad-looking kids also tried to raise smiles to express their thankfulness.

There we met a girl named Nancy. I h【小题2】 a candy to her. She didn’t reach out her hands but stood in s【小题3】. I wondered why. “She wanted one more, sir.” said an old man. I smiled and gave her another one. She accepted them and ran away happily. Later, the man told Nancy’s s【小题4】. Years ago, her parents d【小题5】 and her little sister was taken away from her. As a result, she could just stay alone and depend on herself in the orphanage. But whenever she received anything from others, she r【小题6】 to accept unless they gave her two—one for her and the other for her sister.

After the man e【小题7】 the reason, he said there were also many other orphans like Nancy. It was t【小题8】 of them to do this: with lots of things in their rooms, they waited for their brothers and sisters who they hadn’t seen for long. Perhaps some people think African children are quite d【小题9】 from our kids. They may not get good e【小题10】, so they can’t study well or feel pain, sadness or love. But in fact, their pain is deep and so is their love.

What would it be like to be blind or deaf? Or imagine you can’t walk or use hands 【小题4】 (easy). Most people would never think about this. One day last year, a friend of 【小题5】 (I) helped me out. She talked to Animal Helpers about getting me a special 【小题6】 (train) dog. I love 【小题7】 (animal) and I was excited about the idea of having a dog.

After six months 【小题8】 training with a dog at Animal Helpers, I was able to bring him home. My dog’s name is Lucky—a good name for him 【小题9】 I feel lucky to have him.

You see, thanks to your 【小题10】 (kind), I can have a “dog helper”. Lucky is a fantastic dog. He can do many things for me. Thanks again for changing my life.
