He said he kept a bottle of champagne to be opened for celebrating the end of the epidemic. Steven Pruitt is one of the volunteers. The 34-year-old man has made 2.5 million edits. Yes, 2.5 million. Pruitt started in 2004. One day, he wanted to learn about his great grandfather. This early ancestor was an important 【小题3】. However, there was little information about him online. Pruitt decided to create a Wikipedia page for him. Since then, he 【小题4】 never stopped editing the website.

To do the edits, Pruitt reads lots of books, newspapers and reports. He makes no money 【小题5】 the work. Wikipedia is free, after all. And Pruitt thinks it is important to make knowledge 【小题6】 for people.

There is still a lot to be done. For example, there is a project called “Woman in Red”. Many famous women don’t have their pages on Wikipedia. “Only 17.6 percent of the articles about people are women,” said Pruitt. “But we have made 【小题7】. When we started the work two years ago, that number was under 15 percent.”

How does Pruitt celebrate such progress? “Make another edit!” he said with a smile.
