As I was running near my house, I saw a little girl skating in front of me. All of a sudden, she fell on the hard ground. To my surprise, she just got back up, but she fell down again. Only this time, she didn’t get up. I ran over to her and asked if she was okay. She was taking off her roller skates (溜冰鞋) with her face all red. “Yeah! I’m okay. Thanks.” she said. But in fact she was not. Her eyes were filled with tears as she took off her shoes.
“Have you just started skating?” I asked, and it was a certain answer, because her roller skates were new. “I only got them on Friday!” A little smile appeared. “I think it might be a bit too windy to practice.” “Yeah, it is really windy.” Then the tears forming in her eyes began to drop down her cheeks (脸颊).
She tried so hard to avoid crying in front of a stranger. She knew she had to be strong. I told her that she was the bravest little girl I had ever met. She said thanks with a big smile. She just looked so proud of herself.
People are amazing sometimes, and if or when I have kids, if they were half as brave and strong as that little girl, I would be a very proud parent. Keep it up, brave girl. You made me proud to be a human today. When we are faced with difficulties in our life, what we should do is not just to stop or even give up but to try our best to struggle (努力) and move on with tears in our eyes.
