In Japan, the appearance(出现)of the cherry blossoms(花), called sakura in Japanese, marks the beginning of spring, and the Japanese as well as visitors to Japan are eagerly waiting for them.

This year, The Japan Meteorological Corporation(日本气象厅)says that the sakura flowers will bloom(开花)a little earlier than usual. In Tokyo, they may bloom on March 23, and in Kyoto on March 24.

Like every year(except for in Okinawa, where the trees bloom very early), it will be in Kochi, on Shikoku Island, that you can see the first cherry blossoms of the season. In 2019, the beginning of the flowering period is scheduled(预定)for March 17, with the first day of full bloom is March 25. For a successful flower viewing in Kochi, we recommend you visit the castle and its park.

From south to north of Japan, here are the predicted blooming dates for trees in some of the largest cities in Japan:

●FUKUOKA—March 19th

●HIROSHIMA—March 22

●NAGOYA—March 22

●TOKYO—March 23

●KYOTO—March 24

●OSAKA—March 26

●KAGOSHIMA—March 28

●KANAZAWA—April 2

●AOMORI—April 24

●SAPPORO—May 4

But people need to know that the flowering times are a little bit different every year because of the weather. Cold, hot, or rainy days will certainly affect(影响)when the flowers bloom and for how long.

Friends are important for everyone. But it’s not easy to find friends. For most students, true friends are harder to find. If you have some good friends, you should do your best to keep your friendships.

The way you talk with your friends is important. When you talk with them, ask questions to help them start and keep talking. But don’t ask personal(私人的) questions, such as their parents’ jobs and salaries(薪水). These questions will make them feel unhappy. They may dislike talking with you and try to walk away. In that way, you may lose some friends and your friends will be fewer and fewer.

________ Listen carefully to what your friend is talking, and answer in the right way. It doesn’t have to be with words all the time. Body language can be enough to show that you’re listening. Talk about your ideas after your friend finishes his talking.

What does it mean to be a good tourist? Which tourists are the most welcomed in their country? According to a study, one country stood out above all others: Japan. YouGov, a UK market research company did the study, including nearly 28,000 people from 26 countries and areas.

The Japanese are famous for being the world’s most well-dressed, tidy, punctual (守时的) and polite travelers, The Telegraph reported. They line up politely and they never attend meetings late, talk loudly or try to take photos in art museums when they know they’re not allowed (允许) to do so.

Japanese tourists greatly surprised the world during last summer’s World Cup. The country’s soccer fans helped to clean stadiums (体育场) after matches, South China Morning Post noted.

The study also showed that another country stood out at the same time, but in the opposite way. Many people thought British tourists act the worst in the world. Even local people in the UK don’t like British tourists.

Many people said that British travelers are loud, poorly dressed and behave badly. They are also stingy (吝啬的) when tipping at restaurants and hotels.

It’s not hard to be a good traveler. The Chinese government advises tourists not to throw rubbish on the ground or talk loudly. They are also told to line up properly and be more polite.

So how can we be a good tourist?

Learn a few words or phrases in the local languages, such as “excuse me”, “thank you”, and “goodbye”.
Watch your body language. Cultures are different from place to place. Some actions may be rude in the country or area you’re traveling to.
Dress properly. If you’re unsure, learn how local people dress.
Be a polite photographer. Try not to use selfie sticks (自拍杆), perhaps others can’t accept it.
