AI park

Home to the annual World Internet Conference (WIC), Wuzhen, a water town in East China’s Zhejiang Province, has always been associated (联系) with technology.

Wuzhen’s People’s Park was built in the 1950s. But this traditional park is now a center with the latest technologies. Powered by technologies including 5G, AI and AR, 23 interactive displays (交互式显示器) have been set up in the park.

An AI assistant is placed at the park’s entrance. From weather forecast to the price of meat and vegetables, it provides daily-life information for the local people.

Square dancing is popular in China. A big screen has been put up in the park’s square, and dancers can learn routines from the screen or use it as a music player. Using the AR mode, dancers can see themselves through the high-resolution (高分辨率的) camera, making the screen a “mirror”.

The garbage cans (垃圾桶) here are smart, too. The garbage can opens by itself when it senses something moving near. It then sorts the garbage and tells you which category (种类) it falls in.

The virtual (虚拟的) zoo in the park is the children’s favorite. By scanning (扫描) the area using the park’s app, visitors can check our virtual animals by AR cameras.

The park is not just a bunch of technologies put together for no reason. All the services were designed (设计) according to people’s actual needs, which showed us what “technology +” could be like in the future.

At the Hangzhou Asian Games, people used new tech ideas. These technologies will keep getting better for future sports meetings. They talked about these clever ideas in the Games at a meeting on October 31.

The Games had a new idea called “One Screen Three Endpoints.” The “One Screen” is a center for events, and the “Three Endpoints” are three apps for events, sportspeople, and fans.

This idea makes it easier to control the Games. This makes it better for athletes and fans. For example, after the opening ceremony, 70,000 people left in just 40 minutes. This is very fast.

The Games also moved the most important information to the Alibaba Cloud. This means all important information is on the Internet. It’s the first cloud-based Asian Games. This made things work well and safely. There were nearly 20 new applications at the Games.

A leader from the Olympics said the 2024 Paris Olympics will also use Alibaba Cloud. For example, they’ll have a replay system with cool technology to show athletes’ moves, so people can understand them better.
