There are many kinds of pollution on the earth: such as air pollution, land (土地) pollution and ①w________ pollution. What should we do to save the earth?

First, everyone should help to keep the air clean. Polluted air is bad for our physical health. So we must stop people and factories from polluting the air.

Second, we should not make too much rubbish. It needs more areas, so there will not be enough space for people to live. The land will then be polluted and fewer plants can grow.

Third, we should keep the sea and rivers clean. 鱼不能在污染的水里存活, and it may be ②i________ for us to enjoy so much seafood or swim happily in the sea in the future.

To make the earth a better place, everyone should learn to love our planet from now on. And everyone should play a part in saving the earth.

When your pen is broken, or you have some food that you haven't eaten up, what do you do with these things? You will probably throw them into one bin. But actually, all of these pieces of waste need to be sorted (分类) separately so that a part of them can be recycled. As we know, metal and bottles are reusable things. We can separate them from litter and reuse them.

In recent years, some Chinese cities have been working hard on it. Shanghai has worked with Alipay to create a “green account (账户) "service for its people. Users get points by correctly sorting their rubbish and can exchange the points for milk, phones and other products through Alipay. The city is asking all of its people to sort rubbish into four groups: wet, recyclable, harmful and dry.

Wet waste is things you don't want but that pigs can eat. Paper, metal and other things that can be reused are recyclable waste.

Harmful waste includes things like medicine and batteries. Finally, other waste will go in the "dry waste" bin.

Many other cities uses this method to sort their rubbish. For example, Shenzhen has been sorting its rubbish since 2012. China is improving its waste-sorting work though it costs a lot. There is still a long way to go. But it's never too late to learn how to sort your rubbish properly and protect the environment.

Having a month off from her job, 24-year-old Stefani Shamrowicz from America decided to take a trip to help clean up the environment. She drove across the country and spent 23 days picking up126 bags of trash (垃圾).

Stefani collected anywhere from one to sixteen bags at a time. She once became discouraged (气馁的) when she felt she wasn’t doing enough. “There was a place that had an ocean of trash and pushed out four bags. But then I broke down because it felt like four bags didn’t do anything,” said Stefani. But she continued to just do what she could. Her monumental (值得纪念的) day was the sixteenth day because she collected 100 bags in total in Ohio.

Stefani shared what she did online and a lot of people got interested. They donated (捐赠) $10 a bag for Stefani to clean up in their names. The person’s name was written on a bag and when the bag was filled, Stefani posted a picture on her Instagram, thanking the person for helping clean up the city she was in. Some people even cleaned up the city in person and sent Stefani pictures of bags of trash they picked up. And once when Stefani was walking on the beach in Florida, and she started doing a bag, two women saw her and started helping her fill the bag. This surprised Stefani a lot.

Now Stefani is back home and returns to work. But she has so many good things to say about her special road trip. “There is trash everywhere, so I’m just happy to be able to make a difference everywhere I go,” she said.
