The reason why people love traveling changes all the time. In 2020，more people are turning to meaningful adventure activities than just sightseeing and leaving memories with their family and friends. Volunteer tourism is one of those on the rise. It connects traditional tourism with volunteer work. In this process，travelers can touch some lives in a special way，make some positive changes in someone's life and even inspire hundreds of others to follow their footsteps.

●Micro（微型的）trips

Nowadays，traveling for a long time is a luxury activity for most people，because they have to spend much more time on work and study. That's why the idea of micro trips is rapidly growing. Micro trips are visits to certain destinations（目的地）within a short period，like three or four days. For example，in winter，you can spend several days traveling to the north to feel the white world of heavy snow；or a one—day trip to a wildlife park far away from the city center to enjoy the beauty of nature. Traveling overseas in three days is also possible if you choose a nearby country. Micro trips allow people to take all kinds of short vacations and experience a number of travel destinations.

After selling my house and leaving my job, I planned to take my cat Cindy to travel around the world.

In the past, we went to quite a few places in America. We saw forests and mountains together and they were fantastic. This year, we spent three months staying on the beach in Canada. Some people were surprised to find that I was traveling with a cat. Once a woman even shouted “There is a cat trying to get into your van!”

I know. The van, a small house on wheels, is our home. I built it by myself with a bed.

Cindy likes finding out places she has never visited, but she doesn’t like to go too far from our van. She loves to sit in the van and enjoy the great view through the window. I post our photos on the Internet and millions of people around the world like our trip.

We are lucky to have each other. I will never forget about the trip we had together. If Cindy taught me something, it is that you don’t need a lot to be happy.
