Last summer, I went on vacation with my parents. We drove to a holiday resort (度假村). After getting there, we climbed the mountain first. It was a little cold in the mountain. But we were lucky because we took coats with us. It didn’t take us long to get to the top (顶端) of the mountain. And on the way to the mountain, we also saw many beautiful flowers. We walked around the mountain and saw two small animals in the woods (树林). But all of us didn’t know their names.

After going back to the resort, we relaxed in hot spring water (温泉). It made us feel happy. Dishes in the resort were quite delicious. We enjoyed a big dinner. At about 8 p.m., we had a party around a campfire (篝火). We danced and sang with other visitors. We also played games together. It was great fun.

It was a great day. We really had a great time there.

The summer vacation is coming. Tom Green and his family are going to take a long vacation this summer.

Tom’s brother, Peter, is a busy doctor. He works six days a week. So he has decided (决定) to relax himself in Boston.

Mrs. Green likes traveling. And she has traveled around the world. This vacation, she is going to do something different. First, she is staying at home for a month. Then she is going hiking in the mountains. She is meeting Tom’s father there. They are staying there for two weeks.

As for Tom, he thought about going to Hawaii to take a long relaxing vacation. But this school wants to take all the students to New York. So he has to change his plan.

Spring Festival It falls on the first day of the first lunar month. On the eve of the festival, the whole family get together for a big dinner. People stay up to eat dumplings at midnight for good luck and health. People light fireworks(爆竹), too.

Tomb-Sweeping Day. It is also called Qingming. It comes on April 4th or 5th. It is a day for the living to show love and respect to dead friends and relatives. People will sweep the tombs（坟墓）, put meat, vegetables, wine in front of the tombs.

Mid-Autumn Festival It’s on the 15th of the eighth lunar month. People enjoy the＂Lady in the Moon＂at night. Mooncakes are the traditional food. People eat them for family reunion（团圆）and happiness.

Lantern Festival It comes on the 15th of the first lunar month. It marks the end of the Spring Festival. On this day, people eat yuanxiao for good luck. Special activities include the display of lanterns and riddle solving.

Dragon Boat Festival It’s on the 5th of the fifth lunar month. It’s for the great poet Qu Yuan. People gather to watch the colorful＂Dragon Boat Races＂. People eat zongzi on this day.
