Do you know what a smart city is like? A smart city uses digital technology (数字技术), such as 5G network (网络), to make people live a more comfortable life. For example, we can use cameras and 5G network to check our houses. So we can easily know how much water and electricity (电) we used in the past month. And we can find out any problems in our houses in time.

In fact, some cities around the world are already using smart technologies to improve people’s lives. In Baltimore, the US, every family has a smart rubbish bin (垃圾箱). It will ask you to clean it when it is full. In Amsterdam, there is a machine that can tell you the latest traffic situation. You can always know the newest information about the road. And then you can choose a right time to go out, so there are fewer traffic jams (堵车) in the city. In Qingdao, China, people’s homes, government buildings, hospitals and streets are all “online”. By using a smart card, people can open doors, pay money and check their health information.

Of course, it will take time to build smart cities. Today the world has a population of about seven billion. Although not all the people can live in a smart city, it’s expected that more than 60 percent of the world’s population will live in smart cities by 2050.

The Wildlife Park has lots of different animals and birds. Some are native(当地的) to Australia and can only be found there. There are more than 500 animals there, including kangaroos(袋鼠),koalas and crocodiles(鳄鱼).They are kept in their natural environment. I like the Wildlife Park better than a zoo. In zoos, most of the animals are in cages.

We first spent some time with the kangaroos. We could touch and feel them. It was very exciting to be so close to them. There were koalas there too. They looked very cuddly(令人想拥抱的). Although we couldn't carry koalas, I could take a photo with one. It is a wonderful souvenir(纪念品) of my holiday in Sydney.

The Wildlife Park has plenty of freshwater crocodiles and saltwater crocodiles. Some of them are very big and scary(吓人的)with huge teeth! I did not want to get too close to them.

There was also a bird show. The keepers(饲养员)showed us different kinds of birds. I saw an old parrot. It could “talk” and made a great impression on me. I enjoy the trip very much. There was so much to see.

Guangzhou is a big city in China. It has a history of over 2,200 years. People in Guangzhou love to eat. There is a saying: Eating in Guangzhou. Usually, there are three times for tea in a teahouse in Guangzhou. They are morning tea, afternoon tea and evening tea. People don’t have much to eat at teatime, but they love to go there to spend their time. You may think only old people have teatime, but in fact today’s young people go to the teahouse more often than before. The place is large enough for all their friends to sit in and the time is not limited. Also, the food in the teahouse is very healthy.

One of the most famous and popular restaurants in Guangzhou is Guangzhou Restaurant. It first opened in 1935. Its name was Southwestern Restaurant. In 1940, it changed the name to Guangzhou Restaurant. It means “all delicious food is in Guangzhou”. Now it has nine restaurants and more than 30 food stores across the city. One of the restaurants is in Shangxiajiu Street. Many people choose to have their weddings (婚礼), to celebrate birthdays or their new family members-babies there.
