Many people travel to different places in the world by air. Usually it takes a long time, perhaps half a day, for passengers to stay in the plane. So airlines offer passengers food. But it is common that they feel bad about food taste.

To solve this problem, airlines try hard to improve their food. They would like to do so because they don’t want to lose customers.

However, according to scientific research, part of the reason why plane food tastes bad is that at high altitude we can not taste things as well as we do on the ground. Also scientists have found that our noses become very dry even before a plane takes off. As the plane moves up, the change in air pressure reduces one third of the sensibility of our taste buds (味蕾). So our taste buds become senseless. The sad fact, however, is that our noses don’t know it.

All of these help explain why food on the plane tastes so bad. They also help explain why airlines choose to offer passengers salty and spicy food. Without doing so, the food would be tasteless.

Now there are many researches on this. According to one of them, some volunteers are asked to lie with their feet higher than their heads for weeks. And scientists write down their feelings about food taste.

Though scientists try their best, it is not as easy as they thought. Because they can’t deal with the special environment successfully, such as the change in air pressure, making food taste good is still hard for them.

When traditional Chinese food baozi and the pizza meet together, what will probably happen? These days a kind of new food called “Baozza” is getting popular online. In Beijing, many local people and a number of foreigners are the fans of the food. Why?

The new food has the features of Chinese baozi and Western pizza. It has included the tastes of the two kinds of food. The restaurant, located in Beijing, serves all kinds of tastes of Baozza such as marguerite and BBQ chicken.

The inventors of the food are a few American businessmen. They used to travel to Southern China for business meetings. After they saw and ate baozi made of pork or vegetables many times, they came up with the great idea of creating Baozza.

Alex Cree, one of the inventors, said, “We were talking about the idea of making a kind of special baozi with more traditional Western tastes like that of hamburgers and pizza. And then we called it ‘pizza baozi’.”

“There are a lot of people who only order one or two Baozza for the first time. They worry that the food doesn’t taste so good,” Loren Heinold, another inventor, said. “However, they will ask immediately for more when they turn around.”

Everyone knows that food is a very important thing for health. If we want to be healthy, we must have all kinds of foods. We need food when we feel hungry. Then, if we eat a bowl of rice or a piece of bread(面包), we do not feel hungry. We should have enough food. But do we eat the right kind of food?

Bread is good for us. It helps us to work. It can keep us warm when the weather is cold. Meat, fish, eggs, and milk are all very good for us. They help us to grow. They keep us healthy. We must have some of these kinds of food every day. We also need fruit and vegetables. These also help us to grow and be healthy.
