Gardening is popular in many parts of the world. It brings us sweet-smelling flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables. In fact, gardening has more advantages(好处) than you think.

Gardening helps to keep healthy. Today's people sit indoors for too long and don't get much exercise. When you garden, you have to move around. It's a good chance for you to exercise your body by watering flowers. Also, when you are in your garden, you can feel the warm sunshine. This means you are getting Vitamin D. It's good for your body.

Gardening is a great activity to do with children. It can be a great teacher to teach children about nature and healthy eating. It can also help them to understand the meaning of “No pains, no gains.”

Gardening is a great way to meet people and build relationships (关系). When you are gardening, you are outdoors. So it is a time to talk with your neighbors. They usually like to talk about their hobbies and enjoy showing people what they are growing. Besides, they love to share advice and stories about their gardens.

I am Zhang Qiang. On weekends, I often watch TV with my friend, Guo Peng. My favourite movie star is Baotian Lee(李保田). He is a great actor. He has a movie, Magical Doctor Xilaile(《神医喜来乐》). It’s a very successful comedy. I think it’s great fun. Guo Peng likes Michele Yan best. He likes her famous movie, Sleepless Night. It’s a thriller. I don’t think it’s great. In fact, it’s boring. Guo Peng also likes comedies. He often tells me, “Comedies are really fun!” My father likes them, too. He even wants to be a comedy artist!
