The earth is getting warmer because of the activities of people. We 【小题1】, burn trees and send gases into the air with our cars and factories. Can we do 【小题2】 about it? Sure. We may not be leaders or scientists but we can play our part in 【小题3】 the planet. Here are two ideas.

Ride bikes to school.

Do you go to school by bus or by bike? If you bike, you are doing something for our 【小题4】. Buses, cars, trains and planes 【小题5】 a lot of carbon dioxide. If you live near your school, why not bike there on warm spring mornings? Or, you can 【小题6】 walk to school to save energy.

Wash in the green way.

Do you help your mom and dad wash clothes? Then wash them in an energy saving way. A 【小题7】 study by Cambridge University found that 60 percent of the energy used on a piece of clothing is spent in washing and 【小题8】 it. Over its lifetime, a T-shirt can send 4 kilograms of carbon dioxide into the air.

If you wash your own clothes, wash them in cold or warm water to save energy, but not hot water. Wash your clothes when they fill up the machine. Use the most energy-saving machine you can find. Some new ones use as little as one 【小题9】 of the energy of old machines. When they clean, dry your clothes in the 【小题10】 way, by hanging them on a line rather than putting them in a dryer. In all, you can cut down the carbon dioxide from washing by 90 percent.

When you are away from home for a long time, you start to miss your good old bed, and your good old parents. Believe it or not, you’re feeling homesick. In fact, you can help 【小题1】 feel less homesick. Here’s 【小题2】 you can make it:

●Bring something familiar. It may be your favorite teddy bear or a pen your mom gave you on your 【小题3】 birthday. You can also bring some 【小题4】 of the people you may miss. You can look at their faces and think of the happy moments you shared at any time you want.

●Keep yourself busy. The busier you are, the 【小题5】 time you’ll spend feeling homesick. Try to join in more activities. After all, you can’t make friends if you don’t put yourself out there. I am sure you can play games 【小题6】 with them.
