Look at the people in blue waistcoats (马甲) in the picture! Do you know 【小题1】 they are? They are volunteers from a group called Beautiful Traveler in Tibet. A man named Shi Ning set 【小题2】 the group in 2013. He learned from newspapers that travelers left a lot of 【小题3】 in Tibet every year. “What can I do to improve the environment?” he thought. And then he 【小题4】 up with the idea.

Today there are 【小题5】 than 6,000 people in the group.【小题6】 main job is to pick up rubbish left in the mountains, lakes and rivers in Tibet. Though their job is difficult, they all get a strong 【小题7】 of satisfaction.

“Tibet is a very beautiful place in the world. We should always keep it 【小题8】,” said Shi. “I hope we can 【小题9】 a difference and that one day there will be 【小题10】 human-made rubbish left in Tibet.”

What will our world be like if there are no insects? It might sound nice in the b【小题1】. There would be no bugs or flies in your room. But in fact, this could cause really serious p【小题2】.

The bad news is that the number of insects keeps d【小题3】 these years. Scientists say it’s m【小题4】 because of the use of pesticides (农药). They destroy the places that insects live in.

What would happen if all insects died out? It’s almost impossible to predict (预测), but the r【小题5】 would be terrible. We need insects to pollinate (授粉) crops. When looking at a pair of used chopsticks, most people would see nothing but waste. But Felix Bock would see boxes, tables, shelves and so on.

In 2016, Felix Bock, a doctoral student at the University of British Columbia, Canada, found out people 【小题1】 away about 100, 000 pairs of chopsticks every day in Vancouver alone. He felt he needed to do 【小题2】. So he started the company ChopValue in the same year. The company collected used chopsticks 【小题3】 restaurants, schools and shopping centers in Canada and the US, and turned them into furniture and other artworks. Now in its fifth year, with the 【小题4】 growth of the company, Bock employs (雇佣) 40 people. By using his special methods of steam and press machines, he has 【小题5】 32 million pairs of chopsticks.

Bock takes 【小题6】 in his work. And he hopes the idea behind ChopValue will help people rethink 【小题7】 they see as waste. “I believe every small action can help,” he said. “And I am happy that my business provides a 【小题8】 way for people.” Hundreds of restaurants across North America pay a small sum of money to Bock for the recycling of their 【小题9】 chopsticks. Bock doesn’t stop there. Now he is busy taking his business to more countries and has set up 【小题10】 for recycling local wood like chopsticks in 10 countries.
