Many children use the Internet to get useful knowledge(知识) and information, and to relax in their free time. But some of them are not using it in a good way. Here are some rules to make sure you are safe and have fun on the Internet.

◆Make rules for Internet use with your parents. For example, when you can go online, for how long and what activities you can do online.

◆Don't give your password(密码) to anyone else, and never give out the following information: your real name, home address, age, school, phone number or other personal information.

◆Check with your parents before giving out a credit(信用) card number.

◆Never send a photo of yourself to someone in e-mail unless(除非) your parents say it's OK.

◆Check with your parents before going into a chat(聊天) room. Different chat rooms have different rules and attract different kinds of people. You and your parents will want to make sure it's a right place for you.

◆Never agree to meet someone you met on the Internet without your parent's permission(允许). Never meet anyone you met online alone.

◆Always remember that people online may not be who they say they are. Treat (视为)everyone online as if they were strangers.

◆If something you see or read online makes you uncomfortable(不舒服), leave the site. Tell a parent or teacher right away.

◆Treat other people as you'd like to be treated. Never use bad language.

◆Remember—not everything you read on the Internet is true.

Recently, China Youth Daily has done a survey on memes(梗). They find that 67.34% of the interviewees will share new memes with their friends while the rest of the interviewees say “no”. Some people think that memes can create a relaxing atmosphere, but others think that Internet language should not be widely used in real life. Do you think memes can help social communication?

Chen Shuqi
Memes are created to communicate with others not only online but also in daily communication offline. Most memes have more than one meaning ,which helps people express their feelings better. Nowadays, memes have become fashionable in daily lives and have made the Chinese language more diverse and colorful.
Xia Xiaoyu
Though memes are popular in daily communication, they have some disadvantages. For example, memes are changing so fast that some people will fall behind. Using memes depends on the important premise(前提) that both speakers understand each other. If one of them doesn’t understand, it will be embarrassing. So I suggest that people should use easier words instead of following the crowd blindly.
Zeng Xinyue
Some memes are from movies, comics and other popular entertainment(娱乐). People can use this kind of memes to recognize friends who have the same interests as they do. What’s more, these funny memes can attract more people to share what they like. If you get tired of a boring conversation, you can add proper memes that not only make it lively but also show your sense of humor.
Liu Jiaming
Using certain memes may sometimes resonate(共鸣) with someone, but they can also cause misunderstanding. Recently, the meme “AaBaAaBa” has been popular. But do you know the meme was first used to laugh at the deaf and dumb? What if you were made fun of?

It’s great to have a pet. My family once had a dog. He was only a few months old when he arrived. The dog played with me and stayed with us for more than a decade (十年) until he died peacefully.

I think having a pet is a happy and enjoyable experience. Having a pet in the house can spice up (为……增添趣味) our lives. For example, a cat that has a silly expression can make us laugh. Some pets can even protect us, such as dogs. They not only guard our homes, but also warn us when earthquakes are coming. Pets are our friends.

A few days ago, when I went outside to exercise, I was surprised to find that the old trees that had given me summer shade (阴凉) had been cut down. The place where they once stood is now being used for parking. I felt like I’d lost an important friend.

This is a problem that many communities face. How can we meet parking needs while saving our green spaces? I think we can do both at the same time.

First, trees can be transplanted. Empty space can be filled with green grass and flowers if there’s no room for trees. Parking spaces should be built efficiently. This way, our communities will become harmonious (和谐的) and beautiful.

I think parents should respect their children’s hobbies and allow them to pursue hobbies in a fun and useful way.

I like to watch English films, especially cartoons. However, my parents have made fun of me and not allowed me to watch them. They said that as a 13-year-old boy, I shouldn’t watch childish movies.

But as a matter of fact, some cartoons can help us learn. For example, my English has improved a lot after watching English cartoons. The plots (情节) of these films are often fun, full of imagination and the language they use is easy to understand. I told my parents about the advantages of watching these films. They then allowed me to watch them, although only for short periods of time.

If a child hates studying, it might be because he or she is not studying in an enjoyable way. Everyone should find a way to make studying an easy and fun thing to do.

Each of us has dreams and goals for our future. What makes us study and make progress each day is closely connected with our personal dream and goal.

But why do you have dreams and goals, you still end up with nothing? What separates successful people from the dreamers is their persistent (锲而不舍的) action. When you learn your lessons in school, you must work hard and not give up. You will often find some of your lessons very hard. Try and keep trying, and you’ll be sure to successfully deal with any difficulty you meet with. If we have a hard lesson today, let us try our best to learn it well and then we shall be prepared for a harder one tomorrow.

This is the famous formula (公式) for success:

Dream > Believe > Achieve

Most people have what they want (Dream) and think they can realize their dreams (Believe). And then they do nothing. They just imagine their dreams can come true. When they get tired waiting and lose a lot, they get bored. They say angrily how terrible their life is.

I personally believe that if you really want to achieve your dreams and goals in life, you have to add one thing to your success formula:

Dream > Believe > Act > Achieve

For me, act is the most important thing for success and that’s to Take Persistent Action (Act). If you say, “I can’t do it” and give up, you can never do anything valuable. However, “I’ll try” creates wonders. Let’s remember that there will be obstacles in our life. We must face them bravely and solve them. Success is not something that falls down from the sky. Most successful people made their dreams come true because of their persistent action.

Please remember: Action is the bridge that connects our dreams and goals to reality.
