My name is Ted. I’m from Canada. I’m in Star Primary School. I study English every day. I study Chinese on Monday and Wednesday. My favourite class is PE. I have PE class on Tuesday and Friday afternoon. I’m learning ice-skating in PE class. It’s hard but fun. I also like my music class. I study music on Wednesday and Thursday. This week I learned a Chinese song. I only get homework on Friday.

It was my first day of my winter holiday. Sarah and I went to the library. It is not far from my home. We read some interesting books there. Then at noon, we went home by bike. We talked happily. Suddenly, I saw a dog in front of me. I was very afraid, so I fell off my bike and hurt my foot. Sarah called my parents and they took me to the hospital. I stayed at home from that day on.

Last weekend, I joined a club and became a volunteer (志愿者) in the children’s hospital.

I got up early that morning. Then I went there by bus with other volunteers. When we got there, we gave some flowers to the children. After that we helped clean the rooms. In the afternoon, we told stories and played games together. Before we left, I gave each kid a card with good wishes. We also sang songs to say goodbye.

When I got home, I felt very tired. But I think its a meaningful (有意义的) day. At first, I was worried. I didn’t know if I could do it well. When I saw the smiles on kids faces, I was really happy. I hope to do more volunteer activities like this.
