There is a frog (青蛙). He lives in a well (井) and he never (从未) goes out of the well. So he thinks the sky (天空) is as big as (一样大) the mouth of the well.

One day, a crow (乌鸦) comes to the well. He sees the frog and says, “Frog, let's have a talk.” Then the frog asks, “Where are you from?” “I fly from the sky.” the crow says. The frog feels surprised (惊奇) and says, “The sky is only as big as the mouth of the well. How do you fly from the sky?” The crow says, “The sky is very big. You always stays in the well, so you don't know the world (世界) is big.” The frog says, “I don't believe (相信).” But the crow says, “You can come out and see by yourself.” So the frog comes out from the well. He is very surprised. How big the world is!

One day, a monkey and a turtle ran a race. The monkey said, " I am big, I can run fast. I will win." The turtle said," I am small. I am slow. But I will do my best." The monkey ran faster than the turtle. Then the monkey's friend, the rabbit came out. The rabbit said to the monkey, let's play!" The monkey thought he would win anyway. So he played with the rabbit. The turtle ran slowly. But he ran and ran. Finally the turtle won. The turtle shouted, " I won!" The monkey was still playing with the rabbit. Then the monkey found the turtle. He was very surprised. But it was too late.

Once upon a time, a wolf was lapping the water(舔水) at a spring(泉水) on a hillside. When he looked up, he saw a lamb drinking a little lower down. “There’s my supper,” he thought . “I will find some excuses to catch him.”Then he called out to the lamb, “How dare you smear(弄脏) the water I am drinking?”

“No,” said the lamb. “I cannot smear your water because the water runs down from you to me.”

“Well, then,” said the wolf. “Why did you call me bad names last year?”

“That couldn’t be,” said the lamb. “I was only six months old then.”

“I don’t care,” shouted the wolf. “If it was not you, it must be your father.” After that he rushed at the poor little lamb and ate it up.
