Your private guide will pick you up in your hotel lobby at 8 am. If you'd like to start from the airport or the train station, we're happy to arrange a pick-up there.

Your journey will start at Tian'anmen Square. And your guide will provide you with an introduction to the history and architecture. Enjoy your time, taking photos there.

Later, enjoy the Forbidden City, which was home to 24 emperors in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Here there’ll be plenty of time to take photos, about 2 hours. After that, begin your tour of the Great Wall. You’ll travel for 1.5 hours from downtown to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Have a rest and enjoy delicious Beijing dishes for lunch at our well-selected local restaurant, Xinshuangquan. Your guide will order the dishes according to your preferences.

Around 1 pm, we will hike on the Mutianyu Great Wall. Your personal guide will walk with you on the Great Wall to give you some information. You’ll have free time to walk around after that. After the hike, we’ll drive back to downtown Beijing and transfer you to your hotel at 6 pm!

Trip Notes:

1. This tour is recommended for business tourists who can only stay in Beijing for one day. If your stop is only for 10-11 hours, we suggest skipping the Forbidden City and just having a day trip to the Great Wall.

2. The price you’re given is only for reference. The price may vary according to the location of your hotel. There’ll also be extra costs if your tour starts from or ends at the air- port or the train station.

The District of Columbia is a destination filled with sites of historic and current importance. During a visit, you can learn about the structure of the government, see monuments, museums and much more.

【小题1】. If you have enough time, it is well worth it to make it to as many of the monuments as possible. The place to start is the National Mall. The Mall is a beautiful grassy area lined with trees and some of the monuments honoring the nation’s most important figures. 【小题2】.

After exploring some of Washington, D. C.’s amazing monuments, the next stop should be to plan out a visit to some museums. With over 19 museums and the National Zoological Park, it’s unlikely that you will have the time to explore each of these museums on a single visit. For example, the National Museum of American History and the National Museum of American Art are the best choices. 【小题3】. Another excellent museum that you should be sure to visit is the National Museum of the American Indian. This museum offers amazing insight into the history and culture of the many different tribes of American Indians.

Washington, D. C. doesn’t just have monuments and museums, and there are also chances to enjoy the great outdoors. 【小题4】. You can enjoy the outdoors at the Constitution Gardens with beautiful trees, and island and more. The National Arboretum is another outdoor destination. The Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and the US Botanical Gardens are also great outdoor destinations.

The arts and entertainment in Washington, D. C. are also an important part of any trip to the city. 【小题5】. The historic Georgetown neighborhood in Washington, D. C. is an excellent area to enjoy some of the city’s best shopping, dining, entertainment and more.

Since I was born and brought up in a rural town, I have a great interest in nature. Having the chance of studying abroad in my second year at college, I decided to go to Canada just because I wanted to see the beautiful phenomena there. So after I finished the study, I went to Yellowknife in the Northwest. I clearly remember the sixth night in Yellowknife. Suddenly my host mother came to my room around 8 p. m. and told me to change clothes and go outside quickly carrying her camera.

The northern lights were flickering (闪烁) in the sky! I was amazed and just stood there with my mouth open. I forgot to take pictures of the mysterious lights.

Since that night, whenever it was sunny, I went outside at night and looked at the sky. It was so cold that my hands and feet were numb (失去知觉的) with cold. Actually, the time of my being able to be out was limited. I had to bring her camera back to the house in one hour at most, for the camera was going to be broken because of the cold temperature.

As I took pictures of the northern lights, I came to find a characteristic movement of the lights. They first appear in the north part of the sky and then they come down to the south. After that, suddenly, they come in the middle of the north and south only for a while, which is the time when the best northern lights can be seen. Since it is only a few seconds for the northern lights to come down to the middle of the sky, it is very hard to get good pictures.

The stronger the sun acts, the better and stronger northern lights flicker in the sky. That’s because they occur from the collision (碰撞) between atmospheric gases and solar wind. Much more solar wind comes to the earth when the sun is active, leading to the best northern lights.
