I like singing, but I’m not brave enough to sing in public. Last term I go to the birthday of my cousin. She invited me to sing him a song, but I refused. I was worried I would laughed at by her friends. However, see her a bit down, I decided to give it the try. Everything was difficulty at the start. My face felt hot, but my voice sounded low. Strange, after a little while I was not afraid of anymore. Once I finished they cheered. I finally realized that we could make progresses only by setting aside our fears.

One day a man who passed a camp of elephants. Looking much close than ever, he was surprised to see that the only thing stopping these strong and powerful animals from escaping were a thin rope tied from one of their legs to a simple pole in the ground. Confusing why they didn’t use their strength to break the ropes, he asked the trainer what was matter. The trainer replied to him, “The rope was strong enough to stop baby elephants from run away. These powerful, intelligent and admired elephant didn’t believe that they could free them, so they never tried.” Our personal beliefs are powerfully. They can work either for and against us.

We had a discussion on “overnight-fame” at last week. Nowadays, many people were crazy about instant fame and wealthy. To be honest, it is not bad be famous or have a lot of money, but I don’t agree with the view which people rise to fame overnight. We all know “easy come, easy go”. Let’s take Li An as the example. Only after his hardly work did he become successful. Or we can list more similar cases if need. What I do believe is the process in which we try our best. It is what we have experienced along the way to success that we treasure and enjoy mostly.
