Camp Odayin provides fun, safe and supportive camp experiences and community building opportunities for young people and their families this year.
Winter Camp February 15 - February 17
It is hosted in Amery, a two-hour drive from the Twin Cities and free round trip transportation is provided from Minneapolis and Madison. This camp is for children who have attended Residential Camp or Day Camp before. Campers can experience snowshoeing, skiing and snowboarding. Registrations are processed during December & January.
Moms Retreat May 16 - May 17
Scheduled in downtown Stillwater, Moms Retreat will seek to improve the quality of caregivers' life. It will include meals, boarding and yoga activities.
Registration will open in April for moms that receive the email invitation from Camp Odayin. If the limit is reached, we will start a wait list.
Residential Camp July 13 - July 18
Campers will have a chance to communicate with other young people sharing the same grade. Hosted in Lutherdale, it will include swimming, horseback riding and talent show. The approval by the Camp Odayin Director is necessary.
Registration will open in early March and is due May 1st.
Family Camp October 26 - November 1
Hosted in Camp Lake, the camp is a two-night commitment for families with children suffering from heart diseases, who will benefit from connecting with other families who have similar health, emotional and social concerns. Activities will include drawing, fancy dress balls and movies.
Families who have a child in 12th grade or younger (no minimum age) can attend. Camper registration is available online in late August.

Meet at 7:30 am at the end of Day Rd, Cheltenham while the bush is alive with birdsong.

FRIDAY MAY 12 MEDIUM
Possum Prowl
Meet at 7:30 pm in Seaforth Oval car park. Enjoy the peace of the bush at night. Lovely water views. Bring a torch and wear sports shoes as some rock climbing involved. Coffee and biscuits supplied.

Bairne / Basin Track
Meet at 9:30 am on Track #8, West Head Road. Impressive Pittwater views. Visit Beechwood Cottage. Bring lunch and drink. Some steep sections. Reasonable fitness required.

FRIDAY JUNE 16 EASY
Poetry Around a Campfire
Meet at 7:00 pm at Kalbarri Visitor Center. Share your favourite poem or one of your own with a group around a gently burning fire. Tea and biscuits to follow. Dress up warmly.

SUNDAY JUNE 25 EASY
Morning Walk at Mitchell Park
Meet at 8:30 am at the entrance to Mitchell Park, Mitchell Park Rd, for a pleasant walk wandering through rainforest, river flats and dry forest to swampland. Binoculars (双筒望远镜) a must to bring as many birds live here. Finish with morning tea.

Explore the History of Jazz and Celebrate the Lunar New Year
Here is a sampling of some events for this week and how to tune in. Note that events are likely to change after publication.
Monday
Explore the history of jazz in Washington with the musician, broadcaster and historian Ken Avis, as he discusses what made the city a capital and how the music has changed through the year. This event, presented by the Smithsonian Associates, costs $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Registration closes two hours before the event.

Tuesday
Celebrate the Lunar New Year’s unique food traditions in a talk from the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. Jan Stuart, the Melvin R. Seiden organizer of Chinese art, will present works from the museum’s collection, and Lydia Chang of the Peter Chang restaurant empire, will share stories about her family’s celebratory dishes. This event is free, and attendance is capped at 500.

Wednesday
Join Ensemble NYC an evening of love songs. Featuring well-known artists, the event will include pieces like Gioachino Rossini’s “Una voce poco fa” and Mozart’s “La ci darem la mana”. A part of the money will be donated to West Side Campaign Against Hunger. Tickets are need-based and can be purchased for as little as $10.

Thursday
Dance with your little ones while listening to a special Valentin’s Day concert from the Laurie Berkner Band. In a live performance, Ms. Berkner, a children’s recording artist, will play family-friendly songs, dance with animations and even introduce special guests. Tickets are $20, and give viewers access to both the 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. shows.
