Bird-watching is one of the activities offered by the public benefit program “Park Classes”, which 【小题1】 (launch) in the city of Wuhan in 2016.

The program aims to help raise the awareness of environmental 【小题2】 (protect) among primary and middle school students, and to help 【小题3】 (child) get close to nature through a variety of outdoor activities developing their ability to explore and take action.

Among the courses on offer 【小题4】 (be) the restoration of small and micro wetlands, 【小题5】 requires a considerable amount of hands-on practice. Under the guidance of tutors, students are required 【小题6】 (conduct) research on a 500-square-meter wetland in a city park, and then take action to promote 【小题7】 (it) restoration.

Last summer, a team of 15 students conducted a physical examination of the biodiversity of 【小题8】 micro-wetland in Wuhan’s Houxianghe park. During their field research, the team found that there were few fish in the micro-wetland. After further study, they concluded that the problem is 【小题9】 (large) due to the lack of submerged (水下的) and floating plants, which kept fish and amphibians 【小题10】 reproducing in large groups.

The activity was meaningful and the students learned a lot and they are expecting to take more chances like this.

Natural resources are things 【小题1】 exist in nature and can be used by people. Some natural resources are renewable, like trees. When one tree is cut down, we can plant a new tree to replace it. Others, 【小题2】, are not renewable, like the coal dug out of the ground. Once it is used, it is 【小题3】. (go)

Although we all know that our natural resources are limited, we often waste them in our daily life. Paper, bottles and cans 【小题4】 (throw) away carelessly; food is wasted just because of  its  poor  taste; clothes  are  rejected 【小题5】 (simple) due  to  their  old fashion. These valuable natural resources will run out before long 【小题6】 better use is made of them.

Actually, everyone can make contributions (贡献) to 【小题7】 (protect) our natural resources. For example, 【小题8】riding a bicycle or walking instead of driving, we can save lots of petrol. Water is a very important natural resource because we all need 【小题9】 to stay alive. We can make wise【小题10】 (choose) to save water, like reusing the water that has been used to wash vegetables to water flowers.

Celebrities（名人）like Olivia Munn, as well as fashion companies like Cucci and Versace , are among those who have been opposed 【小题1】 wearing animal fur. Now, San Francisco has become the【小题2】(large) city in the USA to ban retailers from selling new fur to their customers.

The ban aims to send 【小题3】   strong message to the fur industry 【小题4】 the cruelty these animals endure for the purpose of 【小题5】 (become) clothing is not consistent with the value of the city.

As we all know, West Hollywood became the first American city 【小题6】（forbid ）the sale of new fur items in 2011, and Berkeley passed a ban on the sale of fur clothing in 2017. Additionally, in 2000, the UK led the charge(打头阵 ), 【小题7】 (follow) by Australia in 2004. More recently, the Netherlands, the European Union’s main producer of fur , banned fur farming in 2012 and plans to end mink(貂) farming by 2024. In 2018, Norway banned fur farms and 【小题8】(end) fox and mink farming by 2025.

Hopefully, only when efforts like these are made to encourage 【小题9】 (consume) to stop buying real animal fur 【小题10】 the lives of animals be further protected all over the world.
