Prom(高中毕业舞会)is a day you’ll never forget. It’s one of the most important events of your senior year, one you certainly don’t want to miss.

About a month before prom, I started my countdown(倒计时). It took me about a week to find my dress. I bought it secondhand, but it was the most beautiful dress I’d ever seen-not too fancy, just the look I wanted. My shoes were bought from Wal-Mart. It might not seem the best place for shoes, but they were so comfortable that I couldn’t wait to dance all night long in them. My cousin Melissa did my hair and make-up. I received so many compliments(恭维）at prom about my hair and make-up and I felt grateful to her.

I had much fun with a group of friends. We danced for four hours and I felt as if my feet were going to fall off. After that came the dessert buffet(自助餐). There were four to five tables filled with sweets. I only had a piece of chocolate cheesecake and this little cup of strawberry dessert, but both were to die for.

By the time the casino(老虎机)and magician arrived, everyone was super tired. I wanted to sleep, but I went out into the hall with friends and took pictures. At around 6:30 am, we headed into the breakfast hall for breakfast and goodbyes. Although it wasn’t the last time we would be seeing each other, it felt as if we were leaving behind so much.

Prom is going to be one of the best times in your life. Don’t think of it as a dance. Think of it as a life-changing moment. I know it was for me.

116th Annual Florence County Fair

This Florence County Fair marks the 116th annual anniversary celebration of our family-friendly tradition. While many items and activities have changed throughout the years, one very important item has not changed. The Florence County Fair is a celebration of varied talents of our Florence County residents as well as serving as a showcase of our County’s agricultural and natural resources.

New Contests and Activities Added

We have added multiple new contests and activities, such as the Secret Life of My Pets Tea Party, special exhibit contests, a Polka mass and music by Jerry Voelker and the Jolly Gents.

Low Admission Prices

Adults (ages 12 & older)     $10.00 per person

Kids (ages 11 & under)     Free

Seniors (ages 65 & older)   $5.00 per person

Exhibitors        $5.00 per person

Parking

No charge for parking at the Florence County Fair Park; however, space is limited. Parking will be restricted on County N near the two entry gates for vehicles entering and exiting the fairgrounds.

Additional Costs to Participate

Once you are at the fair, most of the entertainment and activities are free to watch and participate in. Out of all those activities, there are some which require an additional entry fee for you to participate in-the Classic Car and Motorcycle Show, the Mud Bog, and the ATV/UTV games.

All of our music, old-fashioned kids games, Magic Show and Air-Powered Rocket Workshop, horse pull, Grandma’s Garden, plus many more activities are all free to attend and participate in.

Our goal is to keep our 116th Annual County tradition a family-friendly event affordable for everyone who is attending. We hope to see you there!

Ma Lili's parents are going to give a birthday party for her. She’s going to be fourteen years old. Ma Lili has a lot of friends. They are going to come to the party. They are girls from Ma Lili’s school. There are twenty-five of them.

Ma Lili’s mother is making birthday cakes for the party. They are very nice cakes. Ma Lili says to her mother "Mum, you’re very nice. Thank you for your nice cakes. " Her father is going shopping. He buys a lot of apples, bananas, oranges and pears.

It’s four o'clock in the afternoon. Now everything is ready. The party begins in thirty minutes.
