The people of Kiunga, Kenya, have been forced to drink, cook and bathe in dirty and【小题1】(pollute) water for years. In 2018, GivePower, a nonprofit organization 【小题2】 provides solar energy solutions to regions that need it most, installed its first-ever solar water farm, and it【小题3】 (provide) clean water to 3,000 people every single day so far. The solar water farm turns the salt water of the Indian Ocean【小题4】 clean drinking water through advanced filtration(过滤)systems.

The main issue is that water plants cost a lot 【小题5】 (run), however, solar panels have helped solve this issue. GivePower’s solar water farm produces solar energy using 【小题6】 (it) solar panels. These are able to produce 50 kilowatts of energy and power two water pumps that run 24【小题7】 (hour) a day. Before their solar farm 【小题8】 (build), the people of Kiunga had to travel up to one hour a day just to get access to clean drinking water.

It has been【小题1】(exact)one year since I returned from Senegal.   Volunteering has helped me understand【小题2】is important to me and how to live a happy life.

In the past, I【小题3】(follow) the common path: from school to university. It's not that I didn't enjoy these experiences, but that I had been led down that path by the expectations from my parents and teachers rather than my own ambitions. Therefore, after【小题4】(graduate) from university, I decided to achieve something more【小题5】(benefit) something that would help the wider community.

I spent time working on the Act 2 Live Project and assisting all kinds of similar【小题8】(organize) in their work to improve the lives of the poor.   By far, the most rewarding aspect of my volunteering was supporting the amazing people of Kaolack.

Working on【小题9】wide variety of tasks and living in a different culture have a positive effect on my development. Thanks to volunteering, I was able【小题10】(find) confidence as a young adult, learn new skills and enrich my life.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m., a group of runners from different countries gather at a bar in Shanghai before 【小题1】 (set) out on their 5 ­kilometer run. But this is no ordinary run.
