I was in a foreign country. Even though I【小题1】 ( know) the country and the language and every-thing well,I might still need some other people 【小题2】( help) me in emergency cases. I took a midnight train from the capital to 【小题3】 I lived. 1 was trying not to fall asleep as I would be home towards 2 am, but 【小题4】 ( funny) enough I fell asleep and opened my eyes , only to find 1 had passed 【小题5】station I wanted to arrive at. I went and talked to the controllers , and one of them told me to get off at the next one and wait for the train to my city ,【小题6】would not arrive until 4 in the morning. The other station was just shitty(低劣的) and too 【小题7】( danger) to wait alone for the next train.

One of the 【小题8】( controller) got off with me as he lived there. Then he told me he would not feel okay if he left me there alone. He offered to get into his car because 【小题9】was freezing outside. I was a bit suspicious , but 1 trusted him. 1 got in the car and we stated talking. He looked 【小题10】a really good person , very gentle ,pure and warm.

Mr Perkins stood at the bus stop and watched the cars go by. Many of the cars were new Beta 400s, 【小题1】 most of them were yellow. Mr Perkins always 【小题2】(wear) the same clothes as other men, ate the same food as other people, and did the same things after work and at the end of the week. He was very happy when he saw all the other Beta 400s in front, behind, and on both 【小题5】(side) of him. Mr Perkins his car in a big parking lot near his office, and worked the rest of the day. But when he came back at five o'clock, there were 【小题6】 many bright yellow Beta 400s in the car park that he did not know 【小题7】 was his car. He tried his key in some of the cars, but people 【小题8】(pass) by gave him a look he didn't like. So he stopped. Poor Mr Perkins had to wait 【小题9】(patient) until his car was the only one that 【小题10】(leave) in the parking lot.

Once there lived a rich man【小题1】wanted to do something for the people of his town. But first he wanted 【小题2】(find) out whether they deserved his help.

In the centre of the main road into the town, he placed 【小题3】very large stone. Then he【小题4】 (hide) behind a tree and waited. Soon an old man came along with his cow.

“Who put this stone in the centre of the road?” said the old man, but he did not try to remove the stone. Instead, with some difficulty he passed around the stone and continued on his way. 【小题5】 man came along and did the same thing; then another came, and another. Then he began to move the stone. He pushed 【小题9】 pilled with all his strength to move it. How great was his surprise at last! 【小题10】 the stone, he found a bag of money.
