According to a new study, Americans imagine that idol (偶像) 【小题1】 (resemble) themselves - an appearance that depends on their 【小题2】 (race) and politics.

In the first step of the study, 511 Christians each viewed 300 pairs of slightly 【小题3】 (difference) human faces and selected which one better represented the idol. The scientists then generated (生成) an average face for each participant. All the average 【小题4】 (choose) faces looked younger and more loving 【小题5】 the average of the faces not chosen.

But 【小题6】 (politics) background played a big role in which faces 【小题7】 (think) most “accurate”. Conservatives tended to treat idols as more powerful，male and white, 【小题8】 liberals (自由派) pictured a more loving idol with darker skin.
