Do you have clothes in your closet that you never wear? Do you keep things in your drawer that you never use? Do you have books on your shelves that you never read? And what about the mess on the floor? 【小题1】 If the answer to these questions is yes, then you’re not alone. Most of us have too much stuff.

People with untidy, messy rooms have untidy minds and they feel stressed, finding it hard to relax. 【小题2】 There is no doubt that too much stuff is bad for us and we have to change.

Now, imagine this bedroom: a desk, a chair, a white floor, a bed and a wardrobe. That’s all. It looks calm and relaxing. This is the minimalist style. Minimalists believe that they don’t have to own a lot of possessions to be happy. 【小题3】

At this point you are probably asking “Do I have to remove all my favourite things?” 【小题4】 A minimalist room is too extreme for most people, and personal possessions like photos and books are comforting and help us feel easy at home.

【小题5】 Consider this simple rule: if you don’t use something for longer than 6 months, get rid of it. You have to regularly tidy and sort all the stuff out in your room. After tidying, you’ll have much room in your closet and drawer. Your parents don’t say “You must tidy your room!” any more! Your room will look more large and bright, making you feel free and comfortable!

Do you know what may make you seem to be not confident enough? 【小题1】.

Giving reasons for your actions. Suppose you are having lunch with a group of people, and suddenly you drop your glass of coke on the floor. What will you do? Well, some people will just start to explain why it has happened.【小题2】. If you drop a glass or make a mistake, it won’t change who you are. It’s your right to make a mistake because you are a human being.

【小题3】. You may have experienced a situation where you told a friend his performance wasn’t that good and then he replied back immediately by saying, “No, no, no, it’s just because I was tired” or “I was just thinking of something else”. Confident people listen to criticism and see whether it’s true or not.【小题4】 However, if they know it’s not true, they don’t care much about it.

Becoming a perfectionist. A perfectionist thinks that he lives in a perfect world so he tries to do everything perfectly.【小题5】 Confident people are not perfectionists. If they get a “B”, they may try to get an “A” next time, but if they get 99/100, they won’t be unhappy about not getting a full mark because they know they’re not perfect.

Do you like air travel with a service dog? Air travel makes some people very nervous. The crowds, the noise and flying itself can cause unease. But there are classes people can take to help them defeat their fear of flying. And, let me introduce similar training for service dogs that suffer the same problem

Service dogs almost never leave the side of the people they care for. You will see them working on buses, trains and other public transport systems. But the busy environment found at an airport can trouble even the best trained working dog.

People with disabilities depend on their dogs. They want the animals to safely guide them through security areas. They also need the dogs to remain calm on duty on the plane, even when the flying is not smooth. This takes special training. The Air Hollywood K9 Flight School is one place where such help can be found.

The school has a piece of equipment that provides the sights, sounds and even the feel of an airplane in flight. It is called a flight simulator, which was built for filming airplane scenes in movies.

Sandy Alexander has a disability that requires his two-year-old dog, Doc, to be always at his side. Mr. Alexander took the dog to the flight school to get him ready for plane trips. He says Doc did not like the bumpy part of the flight simulation( 模拟).

Dog trainer Mary Segall is with Canine Companions for Independence. It provides dogs for people with disabilities. Ms Segall says successful training is based on a simple rule: preparation.

" Dogs need to be exposed gradually and repetitively to stimulation, to the environment, to loud noises, to sounds and to other dogs so that when this experience happens to them on a daily basis, they are   able to act in a way that they're used to acting and that they don't get excitable."

Dog owners who attended the training at Air Hollywood K9 Flight School say they now feel much more at ease about future flight. Their dogs also seem ready for take-off.
