Shakespeare’s Birthplace and Exhibition of Shakespeare’s World

Welcome to the world-famous house where William Shakespeare was born in l564 and where he grew up. The property(房产) remained in the ownership of Shakespeare’s family until 1806. The House has welcomed visitors traveling from all over the world for over 250 years.

◆Enter through the Visitors’ Centre and see the highly-praised exhibition Shakespeare’s World, a lively and full introduction to the life and work of Shakespeare.

◆Stand in the rooms where Shakespeare grew up.

◆Discover examples of furniture and needlework from Shakespeare’s period.

◆Enjoy the traditional(传统的) English garden, planted with trees and flower mentioned in the poet’s works.

The Birthplace is within easy walking distance of all the car parks shown on the map；nearest is Windsor Street(3 minutes’ Walk).

The House may present difficulties but the Visitors’ Centre, its exhibition Hall and the garden are accessible(可进入的) to wheelchair users.

Full-time Puppy Raiser

What Is a Full-time Puppy Raiser?

Full-time Puppy Raisers are devoted volunteers who take our Service Dogs in Training into their homes and look after them for 12 to 16 months, working on critical socialization and basic obedience (顺从).

As a Full-time Puppy Raiser:

·You attend regular training sessions with a NEADS trainer.

·You care for the NEADS dog 24/7.

·You practice training and socialization exercises, as well as daily exercise.

·You receive a “Service Dog in Training” vest for the puppy to wear, as well as all food, care, and medications for the duration of the dog’s training, at no cost.

·You are financially responsible for a box, chew toys, dog bowls, appropriate training treats, and a long leash line.

Who Makes a Good Full-time Puppy Raiser?

The ideal candidate is just about anyone who is able to devote the time, energy, and love necessary to successfully socialize and train a NEADS Service Dog in Training. We are looking for young families, couples, retirees, and individuals.

Busuu

It is user-friendly and offers flexibility in the choice of the courses. You get to pick where you’d like to begin in the course. The app teaches you vocabulary words and phrases, presenting them both on their own and within sentences. As you progress through the levels, it also evaluates your knowledge through quizzes to ensure you’re learning effectively.

Memrise

Memrise is unique in how it teaches new words and phrases. It integrates words into sentences alongside words that sound similar in your language, which makes it easier to remember. You might also come across multiple images with familiar objects overlaid with foreign words, helping you make stronger connections.

Rosetta Stone

There are dozens of common phrases that are spoken aloud in the language you want to learn, and you have to repeat the words back to practice your pronunciation. One highlight is that it can skip forward to any lesson or let you follow through from beginning to end. There’s also a phrasebook (常用语手册) with basic words and words related to restaurants, hotels, and getting around-all very useful for someone traveling.
