David Jones Jr. loves outdoor activities. One day, he【小题1】 (fish) when he heard screams coming from the river. Within seconds, he found a boy floating in the middle of the river. “I had that sense of urgency that I needed to drop 【小题2】 I was doing and kayaked (划⽪艇) over there,” said David.

Once a farmer lost his watch in his barn, in which lots of grain was kept. The watch,【小题1】 was a gift from his father, was very important to him and he was determined to find it.

After searching the barn for a long time, however, he gave up and asked for help from a group of children who were playing nearby. He promise 【小题2】 (give) a great reward to whoever found the watch.

The boy replied, “ I did nothing but 【小题9】 (sit) quietly and listen for the sound of the watch.”

I really love my job because I enjoy 【小题1】(work) with small kids. I think my work is important. However, there was a time when I 【小题2】(think) I would never have that sort of career.

I wasn’t 【小题3】 excellent student and in my final term, I found I wasn’t the type to have a career. I then found 【小题4】(me) a job. Looking after two little girls wasn’t too bad at first. One Sunday, I met Megan, 【小题7】 used to go to school with me. I told her about my situation. She suggested that I should do a course and get a qualification. I didn’t think I would be 【小题8】(succeed). She persuaded me to phone the local college and finally I 【小题9】(accept) by the local college. My experience helped me a lot. Now I’ve got a full-time job at a kindergarten.
