My husband, our children and I 【小题1】 (spend) wonderful camping experiences over the past ten years.

Some of our 【小题2】 (memory) are funny, especially from the early years 【小题3】 our children were little. Once, we camped along Chalk Creek. I was worried that our 15-month-old boy would fall into the creek (小溪). I tied a rope around his waist to keep him near to our spot. That lasted about ten minutes. He was uncomfortable, and his crying let the whole campground know it. So instead of 【小题4】 (tie) him up, I just kept a close eye on him. It worked—he didn’t end up in the creek. My three-year-old, however, did.

Another time, we rented 【小题5】 boat in a Lake. The sky was clear when we headed off, 【小题6】 storms move in fast in the mountains, and this one quickly interrupted our 【小题7】 (peace) morning trip. The wind picked up and thunder rolled. My husband stopped fishing 【小题8】 (start) the motor. Nothing. He tried again. No luck. We were stuck in the middle of the lake with a dead motor. Now, every year when my husband pulls our camper out of the garage, we are filled with a sense of excitement, wondering what camping fun and adventure we will experience next.

On the way to the train station I found a mobile phone on the street. It seemed 【小题1】（break） with battery out. I decided to pick it up and try to put it together to see if it worked. It 【小题2】（do）! I chose a number from the contact list and found a woman who 【小题3】（luck） knew the 【小题4】（own） so I asked her to please let them know I had the phone. After 15 minutes, I worried about my train, while 【小题5】（think） what to do, a man called the phone. It was the owner's husband! I explained and he couldn't believe it. He asked 【小题6】 I could please wait for him so I did. He came to the station in 10 minutes and soon after his wife arrived.

The look in their faces made 【小题7】 all worth it. I'd lost my train but felt so happy to have helped. It could have been 'my' phone. They offered 【小题8】（buy） me flowers or give me something, 【小题9】 I of course refused. I thanked them for it and told them their being so 【小题10】（please） and grateful was more than enough for me.

Sometimes a mistake is【小题1】 (help). For me, it was sailing【小题2】 helped me understand a skill. I took a sailing class when I was in high school. The【小题3】(explain) about the difference between a "tack" and a "jibe" was unclear to me no matter how many times I read it. They were two methods of turning a boat one much 【小题4】 (safe) than the other. Later, one day, when I was sailing, a heavy wind blew up. We needed to head back, but I mistook the "tack" for the "jibe"【小题5】 (push) the boat in the wrong direction. Before I realized【小题6】 (I) mistake, it was too late. Luckily, no one was hurt. Only after this experience【小题7】 I clearly understand the sailing phrase "turning on the wind" that I【小题8】 (read) so many times in the textbook. I never confused a "jibe" with a "tack" again! Now I often share this story 【小题9】 my students after they have made mistakes. I hope that they can learn something from their mistakes and correct them instead of 【小题10】 (regret)all day.
